Guidewire Technical Developer

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Guidewire Technical Developer in the United States.

This role is a hands-on engineering position focused on designing, configuring, and customizing enterprise insurance platforms built on Guidewire’s ecosystem. You will work across PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter, translating complex business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions. The position involves deep collaboration with business analysts, product owners, and insurance subject matter experts to deliver high-quality features for production systems. You will contribute to integrations, data modeling, and rule development while ensuring strong alignment with platform best practices. The environment is highly technical and delivery-focused, requiring strong discipline in software engineering, testing, and performance optimization. This is an opportunity to work on mission-critical insurance systems that directly support core business operations.

Accountabilities:

You will design, develop, and support Guidewire-based solutions across core insurance platforms, ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability.

  • Develop configurations and customizations across Guidewire PolicyCenter, Guidewire BillingCenter, and Guidewire ClaimCenter using Gosu and platform-native tools.
  • Implement product model changes including coverages, conditions, and policy term logic aligned with insurance requirements.
  • Design and build integrations using messaging, batch processing, plugins, and Guidewire Integration Gateway.
  • Develop and maintain PCF customizations and entity model extensions following Guidewire best practices.
  • Build rules using GX Model, business rules, and validation frameworks to support business processes.
  • Support Guidewire Cloud Platform upgrades, refactoring, and modernization initiatives.
  • Optimize Gosu logic, database queries, and system performance to improve scalability and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot production issues across InsuranceSuite applications and drive root-cause resolution.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and SMEs to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, enforce coding standards, and document technical decisions and architecture.
Requirements:

You bring strong Guidewire development experience combined with deep technical expertise in insurance platform engineering and enterprise systems integration.

  • 5+ years of experience in Guidewire development and implementation.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Gosu programming and Guidewire data models.
  • Proven experience working with Guidewire PolicyCenter, Guidewire BillingCenter, or Guidewire ClaimCenter.
  • Strong understanding of product modeling, rules design, and insurance domain workflows.
  • Experience building integrations using messaging frameworks, batch jobs, and plugins.
  • Familiarity with Guidewire Cloud Platform and upgrade processes.
  • Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational database structures in enterprise systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience in insurance (P&C preferred) is highly desirable.
