Job Description

The Warehouse Manager plays a vital role in the operating model and oversees the handling of a variety of goods. The responsibility of the Warehouse Manager includes, but is not limited to, planning, performance management, team leadership, operational oversight, communication, fiscal responsibility, customer relationship management, risk assessment. Effective management will contribute to the overall success and growth of the organization.
Primary Expectations (site specific):
 Maintain staffing levels in accordance with the customers’ requirements.
o Add new hires to DockLink, PayClock system, and the KPI ROSTER tab
 Conduct daily yard checks to ensure that trailers and equipment are properly organized and secure.
 Complete the daily VA (Value Add) sheets for both shifts
 Oversee and track the general labor activities related to the VA operation.
 Ensure that there aren’t any duplicate BOLs (Bills of Lading) in the system.
 Generate and review the daily in and out report and share with Sr. Leadership.
 Ensure that BOLs are accurate prior to shipping.
 Ensure that ALL equipment pre-trip documentation is completed, verified and signed off.
General Expectations:
 Partners with Sr. Leadership and other site leaders, as needed, to achieve overall business and mission objectives, including providing the best customer relations experience possible.
 Oversee the daily operations of the site through direct interface and communication with the customer and internal staff.
 Collaborate with the customer to ensure that goals and expectations are in line and then communicate such expectations to the team and incorporate them into all aspects of the operation.
 Manage the site, ensuring that decisions made are vetted for risk/reward and short/long term implications to both our organization and the customer.
 Adhere to and enforce company safety policies.
 Manage all customer-requested metrics, expectations, and KPI audits (profitability, revenue growth, safety, and team engagement).
 Ensure that the site follows current policies, procedures, and guidelines established by corporate and Sr. Leadership.
 Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with key internal departments (e.g., Payroll, HR, and Invoicing Team).
 Conduct weekly staff meetings, focused on safety, training, planning, operational effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
 Model key leadership behaviors and ensure the highest levels of safety, quality, and service excellence for team members.
 Identify and engage top talent and develop team members to their fullest potential within the organization.
 Recruit, hire, and train to build a team that will solve day-to-day operational challenges and reach short- and long-term performance goals.
 Build revenue and manage budget which includes cost controls regarding operation, labor, and billable services.
 Manage the staff to provide coverage according to customer needs; to include shift coverage for multiple shifts, weekends, and holidays. Plan for a “work to target” environment if necessary.
 Perform other duties as assigned.

Daily Expectations:
 Communicate with site leadership (Sup/Lead) on labor status, goals, workload projections, issues (if any).
 Ensure that system data I.e., Timeclock, DocLink, is being updated timely.
 Ensure daily internal and external reporting and pass down reports are being submitted.
o Confirm that all internal documents are original. Address any situation where there is a copy of a copy of any document that is required by the customer.
o Ensure that the daily recaps are submitted on time
o Ensure that the Roster and Equipment reports are submitted to the customer on time
 Ensure that VA sheets are accurate and turned in to the customer daily.
 Maintain timely communication via e-mail or phone with Sr. Leadership.
 Approve PTO and plan for coverage.
o Cover critical open positions, if needed, until they have successfully been filled.

Weekly Expectation:
 Ensure that payroll is processed accurately, on time, and that you have verified it for accuracy prior to it being submitted to payroll for processing.
 Conduct weekly safety meetings and submit the roster to the HR or direct manager for record keeping purposes.
 Verify proper staffing levels and address variances to achieve the baseline +20%.
 Attend weekly staff meeting with upper management to report safety status, KPIs, margins, issues, suggestions for improvement.
 Ensure profit margin expectations are met for your site and be prepared to communicate, during the staffing meetings, the opportunities, challenges, and planning efforts that yielded success or the obstacles that impacted your operation from obtaining the goal and the plan to address said obstacles for immediate success.
o Monitor site’s profit and loss and work with DM to make corrections if margins are not in line.
 Meet with client representatives to identify any potential issues, customer needs, opportunities.
Monthly Expectation:
 Review P&L, with Sr. Leadership, for week over week performance. Identify and report the cause of negative variances, if any.
 Report on findings to Regional Manager.
 Participate in Safety meetings as required.
Quarterly Expectation:
 Conduct quarterly performance review with leadership and employees.
o Identify strengths and coordinate personal development training needs.
 Establish Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) to strengthen leadership and employees.
 Identify and report on customer production trends and projections. Plan accordingly.
Annual Expectation:
 Review end of year performance metrics for site.
 Conduct an annual performance review with leadership and employees for the site.
o Establish PIP, as necessary.
