Position Summary
Grand Harbor Golf & Beach Club is seeking a skilled and dependable Sushi Cook to join our culinary team. This position is responsible for preparing high-quality sushi and Japanese-inspired dishes for club members and guests while maintaining exceptional food presentation, cleanliness, and service standards. The ideal candidate is passionate about culinary excellence, works efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and provides a welcoming dining experience consistent with the club’s standards of hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare sushi rolls, sashimi, nigiri, poke bowls, and other Japanese-inspired menu items according to club recipes and standards.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of seafood and other ingredients in compliance with food safety regulations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of sushi station, kitchen equipment, and prep areas.
Assist with daily food preparation, inventory management, and ordering needs.
Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to develop seasonal specials and member-focused offerings.
Monitor product freshness and quality to ensure consistency and presentation standards.
Accommodate member dietary requests and food allergy concerns when appropriate.
Follow all sanitation, health, and safety procedures.
Support banquet events, private dining functions, and special club events as needed.
Maintain professionalism and positive communication with team members and club members.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Sushi Cook or Sushi Chef preferred.
Knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and seafood handling.
Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Strong attention to detail and presentation.
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Culinary training or certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Manual dexterity for knife handling and food preparation.
