Project Manager Mechanical Construction in Las Cruces, New Mexico at Southland Holdings

Project Manager – Mechanical ConstructionSA Connects | New MexicoSA Connects is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead mechanical construction operations on large-scale industrial and commercial projects in New Mexico. This role owns project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and field execution for mechanical scopes of work — including piping, plumbing, HVAC, natural gas fitting, and fire protection systems — from preconstruction through closeout.

• Plan, direct, and manage mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, subcontracts, and change orders
• Coordinate with owners, general contractors, engineers, and subcontractors to meet scope, quality, and schedule commitments
• Oversee procurement and delivery of materials and equipment for mechanical scopes
• Ensure work is performed in compliance with New Mexico Construction Industries Division (CID) licensing, codes, and permitting requirements
• Lead and develop project staff, including superintendents, foremen, and field crews
• Champion Southland's zero-incident safety culture across all project activities
• Track project financials, forecasts, productivity, and monthly reporting
• Support estimating and business development for future mechanical work

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of project management experience in mechanical, industrial, or large-scale commercial construction
• Must currently hold New Mexico Construction Industries Division (CID) mechanical license classifications MM-2 (Natural Gas Fitting), MM-98 (Mechanical), and MS-12 (Fire Protection Sprinkler Systems)
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including piping, plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection
• Proven track record managing project budgets, schedules, and subcontractor relationships
• Proficiency with project management and scheduling software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera)
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout New Mexico

• Experience serving as a Qualifying Party (QP) of record under NM CID licensing
• Experience on large-scale industrial, utility, or mission-critical facility construction
• OSHA 30-Hour certification
