Job Description
The Seasonal Restaurant Server plays a crucial role in delivering an exceptional dining experience during peak seasons by providing attentive, friendly, and efficient service to guests. This position involves taking orders accurately, serving food and beverages promptly, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout their visit. The server acts as a liaison between the kitchen and the guests, communicating special requests and dietary needs clearly. Minimum Qualifications- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Previous experience in a customer service or food service role is preferred but not required.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
- Basic math skills to handle transactions accurately.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Prior experience as a restaurant server or in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively during busy service hours.
- Greet and seat guests in a courteous and timely manner.
- Present menus, explain daily specials, and answer questions regarding menu items and ingredients.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to kitchen and bar staff.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while ensuring order accuracy and presentation standards.
- Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns or special requests.
- Process payments and handle cash or credit transactions securely.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including resetting tables for new guests.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service flow during busy periods.
- Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations.
Effective communication and basic math skills are essential for accurately taking orders, interacting with guests, and processing payments. Physical stamina is necessary to manage long shifts involving standing and moving throughout the dining area. Familiarity with POS systems streamlines order entry and payment processing, enhancing service efficiency. Knowledge of food safety ensures compliance with health regulations and contributes to a safe dining environment. Strong interpersonal skills help build rapport with guests and support teamwork during high-volume service periods.
