As a Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of the EKG, Stress Testing, and Holter monitoring departments across inpatient and outpatient settings. By supervising clinical staff, streamlining workflows, and maintaining rigorous compliance with national safety standards, you will ensure our teams deliver accurate and timely cardiac assessments. A typical day for a Supervisor may include:

• Operational Oversight: Supervising the EKG, Stress Testing, and Holter/ZIO monitoring departments across inpatient and outpatient locations, including Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH), Morris Cancer Center, and the Ambulatory Medical Pavilion.
• Workflow & Quality Management: Conducting daily morning MUSE checks for unread EKGs, stress tests, and STAT requests; compiling morning reports and proactively troubleshooting any causes for backlog to ensure timely physician interpretation.
• Team Leadership & Development: Training, educating, and supervising EKG technicians and Certified Clinical Technologists (CCT); providing ongoing education on protocols and technological advances while fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive working environment.
• Administrative Operations: Partnering with department managers and directors to develop policies, manage budgets, establish fees, and schedule clinical staff according to workload, available equipment, and space.
• Staffing & Performance: Recruiting, hiring, and onboarding clinical staff and CardioDynamics lab unit coordinators, ensuring standardization, equity of duties, and conducting regular job performance evaluations.
• Cardiac Monitoring Design: Designing, evaluating, and executing workflows for Holter monitors and external cardiac devices (such as ZIO patches) alongside key stakeholders and vendors.
• Equipment & Inventory Control: Maintaining all specialized diagnostic equipment—including stress carts and treadmills—in excellent working order through daily maintenance logs, monthly inventory, and prompt repair requests.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensuring all protocols align with hospital policies, healthcare laws, and national safety standards, while immediately reporting any deviations that may impact patient safety.

Job Qualifications & Requirements:
To be considered for this EKG Supervisor opportunity, you must bring a strong background in clinical cardiovascular technology coupled with proven leadership capabilities.

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certifications:
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
  • EKG Certification is strongly preferred.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a staff technologist required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or proven leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Physical & Environmental Demands: Must possess the mobility to navigate the entire institution and function effectively under rapidly changing and stressful clinical conditions. This role operates within a basic hospital environment with potential exposure to blood, infectious diseases, and chemicals, requiring strict adherence to Standard Precautions, Infection Control, and Environment of Care safety protocols.
