Director of Product, Customer Experience

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Product, Customer Experience based in the United States.

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for shaping and scaling the end-to-end customer experience within a complex, data-driven energy platform.
The role sits at the intersection of product strategy, energy markets, and customer financial outcomes, with direct influence on trust, retention, and revenue per customer.
You will lead critical areas such as customer dispatch, performance visibility, settlement, metering data, and financial transparency.
The environment is fast-paced, highly cross-functional, and deeply technical, requiring both strategic vision and hands-on execution.
You will manage and grow a team of product managers while remaining close to product discovery and delivery.
This role is ideal for a leader who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys solving complex economic systems, and is energized by building scalable self-serve experiences.

Accountabilities:
  • Define and drive the end-to-end product strategy for the customer experience, spanning dispatch, performance tracking, settlement, metering data, and financial insights.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of product managers in a player-coach capacity, fostering strong ownership, execution velocity, and customer-centric thinking.
  • Transform a high-touch, service-heavy customer journey into a scalable, self-serve product experience across multiple resource types and markets.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, design, energy markets, and commercial teams to deliver high-impact, technically complex solutions.
  • Own key customer and business outcomes including engagement, retention, settlement accuracy, and value transparency per asset managed.
  • Balance long-term product vision with day-to-day execution, including discovery, experimentation, and iterative delivery.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in Product Management, including at least 3+ years leading and scaling product teams in high-growth environments.
  • Deep expertise in energy markets such as demand response, distributed energy resources, grid services, or energy storage, including strong understanding of dispatch, enrollment, and settlement mechanics.
  • Proven success building and scaling customer-facing, data-intensive, financially driven products into self-serve experiences.
  • Strong player-coach mindset with the ability to both lead teams and remain actively engaged in product execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to simplify complex financial and operational systems into clear, trustworthy customer experiences.
  • Experience introducing and scaling AI-driven tools and practices within product teams to improve discovery, design, and delivery processes.
  • Strong executive communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Highly scrappy, action-oriented, and comfortable making decisions under ambiguity.
Benefits:
  • Annual base salary range of $200,000–$230,000 USD, depending on experience.
  • Performance bonus of 10–15% annually.
  • Equity package as part of long-term incentive compensation.
  • Unlimited paid time off for full-time employees.
  • Comprehensive health, wellness, and financial benefits package.
  • Parental leave and additional family support policies.
  • Fully remote work environment with flexibility within approved geographies (United States or Canada, aligned to U.S. time zones).
