Opportunity:
We are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented Financial Analyst who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving complex financial and operational challenges. This role will support merchant processing and consumer lending operations through various functions such as transaction monitoring, risk analysis, reconciliation, reporting, and process improvement. The ideal candidate is highly organized and data-driven. They must be comfortable collaborating across company teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and strong portfolio performance.
Responsibilities:
Merchant Processing (Indirect Credit):
- Maintain and monitor merchant processing providers, including provider lineup, utilization/capacity management, hardware/software coordination, and reconciliation of processor-related revenue streams.
- Monitor merchant processor activity and maintain transaction records for financial reporting and audit readiness.
- Investigate, analyze and resolve credit exposure related to chargebacks, returns, reserves, settlement risk, and PCI compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with Student Operations Team (SOT) and related departments to ensure payment collection, enrollment verification, and issue resolution.
- Verify weekly enrollment payments, including down payment validation and payment tracking.
- Utilize Microsoft Business Central (BC),Coupa, Excel, and other financial systems/tools to support reporting, reconciliation, and portfolio analysis. Manage and reconcile transactions across multiple merchant accounts, ensuring accurate and timely account updates.
- Assist Accounting with month-end and quarterly closing processes.
- Monitor user access and permissions to ensure compliance with internal controls and security standards.
- Create, document, and maintain standard operating procedures and process documentation.
Consumer Debt (Direct Credit):
- Report and monitor portfolio performance metrics including applications, loan book growth, revenue, delinquency rates, pay-offs, charge-offs, and customer repayment behavior.
- Identify unpaid or disputed loans and initiate resolution processes to ensure collection of outstanding balances.
- Monitor and report on user access and permissions.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in credit analysis or underwriting, preferably in fintech, merchant services, or consumer lending.
- Knowledge of credit risk management principles, underwriting standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Strong financial modeling, Excel, and data analytics skills; experience with Microsoft Business Central, Power BI, Asana, and AI Agents is a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience supporting capital raise or investor relations efforts is highly desirable.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working in a high-growth or startup environment.
- Familiarity with payment processing infrastructure and settlement risk dynamics.
- Comfortable operating cross-functionally in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
