Overview:
FPM Remediations, Inc. is currently seeking a Junior Environmental Technician (I) for a full-time position at its San Antonio, TX office. This is an excellent career opportunity to join a team of dedicated and knowledgeable environmental professionals. This position will provide an opportunity to support field investigation and remediation projects at sites across the country.
Primary Responsibilities:
The position will support projects at locations around the United States. Responsibilities will include:
- participating in field programs that include the collection of soil, surface water, groundwater, sediment, and air samples for laboratory analysis.
- supporting GIS and data management teams.
- using, maintaining, and calibrating field equipment used for sampling and testing.
- assisting in the proper disposal of hazardous waste and maintaining inventory and databases.
- overseeing and monitoring the work of subcontractors including drill rig crews, surveyors, construction crews, and remediation work.
- soliciting cost estimates from subcontractors to support proposal preparation.
- supporting preparation of technical reports, which may include importing electronic laboratory data reports into FPM’s and clients’ data management systems.
- preparing written reports of field activities, observations, and findings and preparing graphics and figures of results.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
There are no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience:
The Environmental Technician will have the following qualifications:
- High school degree or GED equivalent.
- Post-secondary education or prior professional experience a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to travel
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to participate in safety training and follow company safety standards
- Excellent technical report writing and communication skills
- Desire to work as part of a team
- Attention to detail
- Effective decision making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt to changing situations
Security Clearance:
Must be able to successfully complete a U.S. government administered investigation
