SUMMARY:
The Engineering Supervisor is a leader who combines technical mastery with luxury sensibilities. This role will assist in overseeing a team of engineers while maintaining the delicate balance between invisible infrastructure and visible perfection. By delivering impeccable service, the Engineer will uphold La Bahia Hotel & Spa’s service standards (inspired by Forbes) while elevating our beachfront property.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITY:
- Maintain 24/7 operation of all building systems with zero guest-impacting downtime
- Oversee HVAC systems to maintain precise temperature control (72°F ±1° variance)
- Ensure water quality standards (0 ppm hardness in spa areas, perfect pool chemistry)
- Monitor and maintain smart room technology and IoT devices
- Preserve elevator performance and mirror alignment standards
- Implement color-coded preventive maintenance schedules (critical vs. aesthetic)
- Conduct "white glove" inspections of guest-facing areas: pool tile and grout cleanliness, door closer tension and silent operation, lighting levels and ambiance
- Oversee chandelier maintenance and crystal polishing
- Supervise and schedule a team of 6+ engineers across shifts
- Conduct weekly training sessions on luxury maintenance standards: marble restoration, soundproofing techniques, and high-end fixture repairs
- Foster cross-training in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC specialties
- Ensure <15-minute response time for VIP room requests
- Execute "ghost protocol" for discreet repairs during events and peak hours
- Implement vibration analysis and predictive maintenance technologies
- Monitor and reduce utility consumption without impacting guest comfort
- Maintain crisis response protocols for floods, power outages, etc.
- Keep emergency systems (generators, fire pumps) in perfect readiness
- Conduct regular safety drills with engineering staff
- Manage CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) workflows
- Prepare daily logs of system performance and issues
- Control overtime and departmental budgets
- Liaise with luxury brand standards auditors
- Oversee capital improvement projects during low-occupancy periods
- Coordinate with interior designers on refurbishment projects
- Manage inventory of premium replacement parts and finishes
- Ensure all work meets luxury brand standards and safety regulations
- Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities
- Participate in emergency preparedness programs
- Adhere to all OSHA and local safety requirements
- Maintain impeccable grooming standards, wearing the assigned uniform exactly as specified (proper fit, cleanliness, and presentation at all times
- Wear the official hotel lapel pin prominently as part of the uniform requirement, unless embroidered onto uniform
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager

QUALIFICATIONS:
- (5+) years of hotel/maintenance engineering, with luxury hotel/resort strongly preferred
- Ability to provide and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized and non-standardized situations
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals
- Should have good interpersonal skills
- Must speak and communicate in English
- Must have a desire for learning and personal growth
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and kneel for long periods of time
- CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification preferred
- Certifications in electrical/HVAC systems a plus
- Must meet legal age requirements for the position
- Must have high school diploma or equal to a GED
- Must provide valid document(s) to work in the US
