The Senior Data Analyst will turn complex healthcare claims and eligibility data into actionable insights that support better business decisions.
This role focuses on identifying payment anomalies, uncovering trends, and improving the visibility and quality of healthcare data.
You will combine strong analytical capabilities with healthcare domain expertise to develop meaningful dashboards, reports, and recommendations.
Working closely with account management, clinical, and operational teams, you will translate business questions into effective analytical solutions.
The role also offers an opportunity to improve reporting efficiency through automation, streamlined workflows, and well-documented analytical processes.
Success in this position requires strong SQL expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate sophisticated findings to non-technical audiences.

- Develop a strong understanding of organizational priorities and deliver analytical solutions that generate actionable recommendations and measurable business value.
- Collect, clean, query, and analyze healthcare claims and eligibility data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and opportunities.
- Conduct end-to-end ad-hoc analyses, including scoping requests, extracting relevant data, validating results, and presenting accurate findings to stakeholders.
- Monitor data integrity through regular audits and quality checks, ensuring datasets are accurate, complete, and reliable.
- Develop and maintain dashboards using claims and eligibility data to provide internal teams with clear insights for client discussions and business decisions.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand their goals, challenges, and reporting needs and translate them into effective analytical deliverables.
- Prepare on-demand analyses and reports that clearly communicate key findings, trends, and recommendations.
- Present analytical results in clear, concise language and translate complex data findings into practical recommendations for non-technical audiences.
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring analytical and reporting processes, streamline workflows, and reduce manual effort.
- Collaborate with internal teams to implement automation initiatives that improve reporting efficiency and consistency.
- Document analytical methodologies, data workflows, and processes to promote transparency, repeatability, and knowledge sharing.
- Build strong working relationships with account managers, clinical teams, and operational partners by understanding their needs and providing reliable analytical support.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, mathematics, or a related discipline; alternatively, 7+ years of directly relevant healthcare claims analytics experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 5 years of professional analytical experience working with healthcare claims data.
- At least 5 years of strong SQL experience, including data querying, extraction, validation, and analysis.
- Solid understanding of healthcare claims and eligibility data structures, including ICD, CPT, DRG, and related coding conventions.
- Experience analyzing complex datasets and translating findings into clear, actionable recommendations within a business environment.
- Familiarity with data visualization and business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.
- Familiarity with Python for data manipulation, reporting automation, or workflow improvement is a plus.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with a high level of attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to independently manage and prioritize multiple ad-hoc analytical requests while maintaining quality and meeting stakeholder deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to connect analytical findings to organizational goals and practical decisions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build productive relationships with business, clinical, account management, and operational stakeholders.
- Willingness to stay current with evolving analytics tools, methodologies, and healthcare data practices and apply new approaches when they provide value.
