About The Position

We are looking for a Technical Product Owner to lead the day-to-day product direction for one of our API and Integrations teams.

This team is responsible for the technology that allows customers, partners, and external developers to connect other software products and workflows to AccuLynx. As AccuLynx continues to evolve from a SaaS application into a broader platform, our APIs and integration capabilities are becoming increasingly important to our product strategy.

This is a more technical Product Owner role. You do not need to be a software engineer, but you should be comfortable understanding how modern software systems communicate and be able to work effectively with engineers, customers, partners, and external development teams.

You should understand concepts such as REST APIs, endpoints, authentication, webhooks, data models, payloads, rate limits, error handling, and integration patterns well enough to participate meaningfully in technical conversations and translate technical capabilities into useful customer experiences.

The Product Owner will develop a deep understanding of how customers and partners use AccuLynx APIs today, where they encounter friction, and what capabilities they need to build reliable integrations in the future.

Working closely with the Director of Product, Engineering, customers, and technology partners, you will help define priorities, own the team's backlog, clarify requirements, make day-to-day product decisions, and continuously improve the AccuLynx integration platform.

The Product Owner position is hybrid and reports to one of our Directors of Product.

Responsibilities

  • Develop deep expertise in AccuLynx APIs, integrations, data models, and the customer and partner workflows they enable.
  • Understand how customers and partners integrate AccuLynx with other software and identify opportunities to make those integrations easier, more reliable, and more scalable.
  • Work with the Director of Product to translate platform strategy and business objectives into clear priorities for the API and Integrations team.
  • Own and prioritize the team's product backlog based on customer value, partner needs, platform strategy, technical considerations, and business priorities.
  • Work directly with customers, partners, developers, Support, and internal teams to understand integration requirements, recurring problems, and opportunities.
  • Translate customer and partner needs into clear API requirements, workflows, user stories, technical requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Partner closely with Engineering throughout discovery, development, testing, release, and iteration.
  • Participate confidently in technical discussions involving APIs, authentication, data models, webhooks, events, permissions, rate limits, error handling, and integration architecture.
  • Make day-to-day product decisions, resolve ambiguity, and provide Engineering with clear context around what we are building, who it is for, and why it matters.
  • Treat APIs and integrations as products, considering developer experience, documentation, discoverability, reliability, consistency, security, scalability, and ease of implementation.
  • Monitor API and integration adoption, reliability, errors, support trends, and usage to understand where the platform is working well and where it needs improvement.
  • Clearly communicate priorities, technical trade-offs, risks, progress, and outcomes to Product leadership and stakeholders.
Technical Knowledge

Candidates should have a practical working understanding of modern software integrations, including:

  • REST APIs, endpoints, requests, responses, and common HTTP methods.
  • JSON and common API data structures.
  • API authentication and authorization concepts, including API keys and OAuth.
  • Webhooks, events, and event-driven integrations.
  • Data mapping and synchronization between systems.
  • Pagination, filtering, rate limiting, retries, and error handling.
  • API versioning and backward compatibility.
  • Basic concepts related to permissions, security, and access to customer data.
  • Reading and understanding API documentation and using tools such as Postman or similar API clients.
  • Troubleshooting integrations by examining requests, responses, errors, logs, and expected system behavior.

The expectation is not that you will write production software. You should be technically fluent enough to understand how integrations work, ask good questions, recognize potential problems, and work effectively with engineers and external developers.

AI & Emerging Technology
  • Comfortable using AI tools in your daily work to research technical topics, analyze requirements, summarize information, troubleshoot problems, and work more efficiently.
  • Working understanding of generative AI, AI agents, and agentic workflows, including how agents interact with APIs and software tools to complete work on behalf of users.
  • Understand how APIs, permissions, business context, and reliable actions become increasingly important as customers begin connecting AI agents to business software.
  • Ability to recognize customer workflows where agents could use AccuLynx capabilities to retrieve information, make decisions, or complete work within appropriate boundaries.
  • Curious about how AI is changing software integrations and how customers and partners may interact differently with APIs as agentic technology becomes more widely adopted.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Ownership, technical business analysis, integrations, software implementation, or a closely related role.
  • Experience working with SaaS products and agile software development teams.
  • Experience working with APIs, software integrations, or integration-heavy products.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand complex systems without needing to be a software engineer.
  • Ability to translate between customer needs, business requirements, and technical implementation.
  • Experience creating product requirements, technical requirements, user stories, workflows, and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to turn partial, conflicting, or ambiguous information into clear decisions and actionable work.
  • Comfortable working directly with engineers, external developers, technology partners, and technically sophisticated customers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for the products and outcomes your team delivers.
  • Curious by nature and motivated to understand how systems work, how they connect, and how they can be improved

Bonus points if you have...

  • Experience owning or building developer-facing products or APIs.
  • Experience with API management platforms, developer portals, or API documentation.
  • Experience with Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, or similar API tools.
  • Experience with OAuth, webhooks, event-driven architecture, or integration platforms.
  • Experience with platforms such as Zapier, Make, Workato, or similar integration technologies.
  • Experience working with third-party developers or technology partners.
  • Previous experience as a software engineer, solutions engineer, implementation specialist, technical support specialist, or technical business analyst.
  • Experience with B2B SaaS or construction technology.

Not sure if you qualify?

Apply anyway! We extend opportunities to a broad array of candidates, including those with diverse work experiences and backgrounds. Whether you’re returning to work, transitioning into a new role, or growing into enterprise-facing leadership, we are excited to connect with you.
