Team Lead in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania at Chan and Chan (USA), LLC

Chan & Chan USA LLC is a growing Food Production Company currently hiring full-time team members! The Team Lead position is a role in our newly built, clean and modern manufacturing facility. The Team Lead is a valuable member of our growing team and plays a critical role in the manufacturing of our many products. Ideal candidates must be safety focused while consistently producing the highest quality products for our customers. The duties and responsibilities of the Team Lead position can vary depending on the business needs but generally include the following:

Position Summary:

The Line Lead is responsible for overseeing the production line; identifying and correcting all issues that arise during the production run with timeliness and efficiency while motivating and directing associates. Ability to manage in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions:

• Oversees pre-op and/or tear down depending on shift
• Coordinate lines set-up
• Work on the line in a position where all other line associates may be monitored/directed
• Set up equipment when needed, having some mechanical aptitude
• Move equipment to set up the lines with assistance
• Train associates to be proficient in multiple positions
• Rotate associates for cross-training throughout the shift as needed
• Ensure products are built properly per company standards
• Responsible for documentation and legible record keeping for line, including, but not limited to, lot tracking, waste, quality checks, product usage, production and standards
• Notify supervisor of any non-conforming product and complete the Non-Conformance Form, if needed
• Notify supervisor if any foreign objects are found on the components during the production run
• Check and verify the correct labels are being used for each build. Sign the associated form before production run
• Help complete Incident Reports as needed
• Communicate any issues regarding machines with facilities
• Identify production issues – resolve or escalate as needed
• Ensure staffing levels and throughput levels are achieved/ maintained
• Ensure adherence to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) by all associates
• Communicate any issues to supervisor as needed
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains
• Implement changes to enhance overall warehouse performance
• Other duties as assigned
• Must have team lead experience in a food manufacturing facility (SQF certified facility will be a plus)

Physical Requirements:

• Normally standing / walking with freedom of movement on a regular basis.
• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (8 hours or more).
• Frequently lifting / moving up to 50 pounds according to EH&S safety guidelines.
• Frequent physical activity requires walking, climbing, bending, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and stooping.

Work Environment:

• Temperature varies depending on placement in the facility
• Occasionally loud

Work Conditions:

• The work schedule is Monday through Friday 5:30AM-3PM
• Extended work hours may be required (evenings / weekends) until work is complete.
• Physical surroundings are in an indoor warehouse / manufacturing environment.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required will be determined by EH&S.

Required Training:

• The Team Lead position requires training in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• All required EH&S training must be completed satisfactorily.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED desired / required.
• Additional training, schooling, or experience?
