Overview

Complete Building Services, a building operations and facilities maintenance company, is currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for a large facility (1,000,000 sq. ft.) in Washington. CBS is a division of The Donohoe Companies, Inc. - Washington's oldest real estate company.

The Maintenance Mechanic shall have the ability to perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.



Responsibilities

Complete Building Services is currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our Facilities Maintenance Team in supporting a large (1 million sq. ft.) facility located in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities: General maintenance, tours, PM's - performs maintenance and repairs requiring practical skills and knowledge involving and replacing lamps and ballasts. Changing air filters, general maintenance on HVAC systems replacing motors and belts, bearing replacements, basic operational knowledge of equipment to include generators, UPS, ATS, BAS, overhead doors, fire alarm security barriers, etc. Must be able to follow defined methods of procedures in compliance with building operating guidelines.

Repairs and maintenance of:

  • Replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors
  • Patch minor holes and cracks in walls or ceilings using plaster or compound
  • Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets
  • Painting of structures and equipment
  • Repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks
  • Replace damaged paneling and floor tiles
  • Hang doors and install door locks
  • Replace broken window panes
  • Perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Must be flexible and able to work varying shifts. The shifts at this site are: M-F 7:30-4:00 PM, M, TH, Fri - 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM,

Sat-Sun 11:30 AM-8:00 PM, as required and be available for fill-in coverage

Salary $39.66 per hour



Qualifications

You will need to have:

  • Ability to pass a government background check
  • Three (3) years' of experience within the past five (5) years as a Maintenance Mechanic in a building of similar size
  • Shall have completed vocational and technical training in HVAC Mechanic maintenance and service work
  • Must possess ability to identify common causes of building system failures
  • Must possess ability to conduct routine testing procedures
  • Meet project assignments on time
  • Must possess ability work on several assignments simultaneously and prioritize work
  • A demonstrated working knowledge of building systems and an ability to understand technical drawings and specifications
  • Must process the ability to work independently, as part of a team, and possess excellent customer service skills
