Description:

The Motor Vehicle Mechanic supports the designated SF Group by providing expert maintenance, repair, and diagnostics on a wide range of military vehicles and equipment. This role serves as the primary maintenance subject matter expert for the customer and ensures all work follows applicable OEM technical manuals and Army standards.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities
• Maintain proficiency with FMTV, LMTV, JLTV, M1113, M1151, M1165, M1152, M1097, M1038, HEMTT, ATVs, generators, and other powered equipment within the assigned fleet.
• Perform organizational- and intermediate-level repairs and services on all standard Army equipment. Conduct scheduled, routine, and unscheduled maintenance at the unit location or off-site within CONUS as required.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose engine, transmission, electrical, and related systems to identify necessary repairs, following all applicable technical documentation.
• Replace worn or damaged engine components such as piston rings, bearings, and other unserviceable parts across common Army vehicle platforms.
• Inspect, service, and repair the M153 Common Remotely Operated Weapons Station (CROWS), including system maintenance and installation of CROWS and platform integration kits according to established procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
• U.S. citizenship required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Candidates already holding a clearance are preferred.
• Minimum of five years of hands-on maintenance experience with military vehicle families.
• Demonstrated ability to replace worn or unserviceable components across standard Army vehicle types.
• Must meet all medical and health requirements.
• Ability to stand, sit, bend, reach, and walk for extended periods.

• Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and work well within a team environment.

Reasoning Ability and Mathematical Skills
• Ability to analyze problems, gather data, establish facts, and form sound conclusions.
• Skilled in interpreting complex customer requirements conveyed verbally, non-verbally, or in writing.
• Ability to calculate values, percentages, and interpret graphs.
• Able to read and understand electrical schematics and technical drawings.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
The conditions described are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this role.

• Ability to lift or move at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to walk, climb stairs and ladders, and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to stoop, bend, and crawl on or under equipment.
• Must be able to detect equipment malfunctions through odors, noises, or other sensory indicators.
• Work performed in a shop floor environment.
• Exposure to risks associated with electrical systems, moving mechanical components, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and equipment under pressure.
• May encounter extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noise conditions.
