Program Director - Creative Video (Athletics) in Nacogdoches, Texas at Stephen F. Austin State University (TX)

This is a professional position responsible for telling the story of university athletics through developing and creating video content for social media, marketing, and branding utilization. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the Senior Associate Director for External Affairs.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in communications, video production, cinematography, marketing, public relations, sports management/marketing, or a related field is required.

One year of related experience is required. Experience with field and live video production is preferred. Experience with graphic design and animation software used in video productions is preferred. Experience working with production software and production switchers is preferred. Experience working with LED video displays is preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Develops and creates video content for social media, marketing, and branding utilization. Videos include, but are not limited to, intro and hype videos, highlights, features, and season previews/recaps.
2. Serves as the creative vision for developing video content for social media and the athletics website, including shooting, editing, and producing features, recaps, etc., along with working as on-camera talent.
3. Assists with developing digital graphic designs for websites, social media, emails, banner advertising, campus video boards, and other projects as directed and needed.
4. Works closely and collaboratively with other members of the external operations team and the Purple Lights Fund to produce videos that will assist in revenue generation, branding, and marketing of university athletics.
5. Produces feature video content for use as needed.
6. Researches and assesses new video methods and technology, and makes recommendations for new equipment, modifications, or process enhancements as appropriate.
7. Hires, trains and supervises a team of student support staff that helps to execute and manage the department’s video needs.
8. Serves as a member of the External Operations team.

1. Adheres to all applicable National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), conference, and university rules and regulations.
2. Attends university, conference, NCAA, and other organizational meetings as assigned.
3. Performs other related duties as assigned.

9. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
10. Ability to set priorities and complete assignments on time.
11. Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with general supervision.
12. Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
13. Ability to maintain currency of knowledge and skills, including adapting to changes in technology and software related to area of responsibility.
14. Ability to train and supervise others.
15. Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
