About Dream Motor Group
Dream Motor Group operates automotive dealerships in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Texas. Our Alabama locations include four dealerships in the Birmingham and Montgomery areas.

The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to manage IT operations for our Birmingham and Montgomery dealerships. In this role, you’ll be the primary on-site IT resource for four stores, handling day-to-day support along with network, server, and identity administration. The position is primarily in Birmingham, with regular travel to our Montgomery stores as business needs require. Candidates located anywhere between Birmingham and Montgomery are welcome to apply. You’ll work with the rest of our IT team on projects and escalations, but you’ll be expected to work independently day to day.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day IT operations and technical support for four dealership locations
  • Administer Cisco Meraki network infrastructure, including MX firewalls, MS switches, and MR wireless access points
  • Support legacy Cisco switching and assist with the ongoing migration to Meraki
  • Troubleshoot WAN and internet circuit issues and work with carriers on outages and repairs
  • Administer on-premises Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, including hybrid identity sync, user and group management, and MFA
  • Manage Microsoft 365 user accounts, licensing, and mailboxes
  • Maintain Windows Servers running AD DS, file, print, and DHCP services, including patching and health checks
  • Deploy, configure, and manage Windows endpoints through NinjaOne and iOS devices through Apple Business and an MDM
  • Manage printers and multifunction devices and coordinate with print vendors on service
  • Administer cloud-based phone systems, including user setup, call flows, and desk phone provisioning
  • Support dealership management systems, including user access, printer and form setup, and vendor escalations
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors on repairs, replacements, and escalated technical issues
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assets, configurations, and ticket resolutions
  • Uphold IT security policies and support compliance initiatives
  • Provide occasional after-hours and weekend support for outages and planned maintenance
  • Plan and carry out infrastructure upgrades and migrations in coordination with the broader IT team
  • Monitor backup jobs, address failures, and perform periodic restore testing

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on systems or network administration experience
  • Experience with Cisco Meraki (MX, MS, MR) and Cisco IOS switching
  • Strong working knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, site-to-site VPN)
  • Proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft 365
  • Experience supporting hybrid identity environments using Entra Connect
  • Experience managing endpoints through an RMM platform
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities across multiple locations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal - you’ll interact with non-technical staff regularly
  • Maintain a high level of professional personal appearance, grooming, and conduct
  • Ability to lift and install up to 50 lbs of equipment
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel between locations
  • Availability for occasional after-hours and weekend support

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cisco Meraki Solutions Specialist, CCNA, or another relevant networking certification preferred
  • Experience with NinjaOne, Microsoft Intune, or Mosyle
  • Experience with GoTo Connect
  • Experience with automotive DMS platforms (Reynolds & Reynolds, Tekion)
  • Familiarity with OEM dealer portals such as NetStar or Dealer Daily
  • Experience with EDR/MDR security tools
  • Experience with backup platforms and restore testing
  • Experience with security camera systems, NVRs, or door access control
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements such as the FTC Safeguards Rule
  • Experience in a dealership, retail, or service-industry IT environment
  • Experience managing printers and multifunction devices in a business environment
  • Experience supporting cloud-based VoIP phone systems

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Vehicle reimbursement and cell phone stipend
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • 401(k) with company match
