This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Site Acquisition Manager based in the United States.
This is an opportunity for an experienced site acquisition professional to lead critical real estate, permitting, and site development activities across large-scale telecommunications and data center projects. In this remote role, you will oversee site acquisition processes from lease negotiations through zoning and permitting approvals, helping ensure projects progress efficiently and compliantly. You will manage a high-volume portfolio of sites while coordinating with landowners, legal teams, engineers, construction teams, and local authorities. Your expertise in traditional telecommunications and ILA site acquisition will support the delivery of complex infrastructure projects nationwide. The role requires strong negotiation skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate diverse jurisdictional requirements. You will play a key part in strengthening internal project management capabilities while supporting business growth and maintaining a strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain and apply knowledge of zoning regulations, permitting requirements, and jurisdictional approval processes across multiple municipalities.
- Negotiate leases, easements, and land agreements with landlords, telecommunications carriers, and local authorities.
- Manage leasing, zoning, and permitting activities for wireline ILA sites, ensuring that project requirements and deadlines are met.
- Apply a thorough understanding of ILA-specific processes, including the documentation, review, and approval steps required for these sites.
- Oversee a high-volume pipeline of sites simultaneously, tracking progress, deadlines, dependencies, and outstanding approvals.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with landowners, legal professionals, engineering teams, construction personnel, and other project stakeholders.
- Read, interpret, and evaluate title reports, land surveys, and site plans to support site acquisition and development decisions.
- Maintain accurate site documentation and ensure compliance with applicable requirements and audit standards.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to identify and resolve site acquisition challenges and keep projects moving forward.
- Support departmental objectives and perform additional responsibilities as required.
- Uphold rigorous safety standards and contribute to a customer-focused, accountable, and solutions-oriented working environment.
Requirements:
- 10–12 or more years of specific experience in both traditional telecommunications site acquisition and ILA site acquisition.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications site acquisition, leasing, zoning, permitting, and local jurisdictional approval processes.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating leases, easements, and land agreements with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience managing multiple sites and complex project pipelines while balancing deadlines, dependencies, and competing priorities.
- Ability to read and interpret title reports, surveys, and site plans.
- Experience using project management tools such as OneVizion or similar platforms.
- Experience with compliance requirements and environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) practices is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and coordinate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
