Maintenance Supervisors (2), 3rd Shift
Opportunity: Morgan Foods, Inc. has multiple Maintenance Supervisor roles available for our 3rd shift Maintenance operations servicing our Processing Group. This is a full-time, on-site plant leadership role responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and effective maintenance of equipment, machinery, and facility systems within an industrial food manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Supervisor leads maintenance technicians, supports production uptime, drives preventive maintenance, and partners with Production, Quality Assurance, and department leadership to maintain safe and reliable operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Is a Safety Champion for the organization by ensuring employees, maintenance activities, equipment, and the work environment are safe
- Maintenance Supervisors work 9 hour shifts and spend 85+% of their time in direct floor supervision.
- Supervises and leads maintenance technicians by providing direction, training, coaching, mentorship, and support to ensure high performance, safe work practices, and efficient maintenance operations.
- Daily, schedules, assigns, and prioritizes maintenance work to ensure proper coverage, timely response, and alignment with production and operational needs.
- Develops, manages, and supports preventive maintenance programs using Maximo/CMMS to minimize downtime, extend equipment life, and improve equipment reliability.
- Oversees troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, automated, processing, packaging, conveyor, boiler, refrigeration, and other critical facility systems.
- Coordinates corrective maintenance activities in response to equipment malfunctions, breakdowns, or production interruptions to ensure timely repairs and minimal disruption to operations.
- Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, work orders, equipment modifications, replacements, downtime, and ongoing issues.
- Ensures all maintenance activities comply with applicable safety regulations, OSHA standards, food safety requirements, HACCP, SQF, USDA, FDA, environmental guidelines, and company policies.
- Enforces safe work practices and ensures maintenance personnel follow proper procedures, including lockout/tagout, PPE use, safe machine operation, and other required safety practices.
- Conducts safety audits and inspections of maintenance work, machinery, tools, equipment, and facility areas to identify and correct potential hazards.
- Collaborates with Production, Quality Assurance, Process Control, Scheduling/Planning, and department management to coordinate maintenance work, support operational goals, and protect product quality.
- Plans and manages scheduled downtime, shutdowns, repairs, and major maintenance activities to ensure efficient use of time, labor, materials, and resources.
- Maintains inventory of critical spare parts, materials, tools, and supplies to support timely repairs and avoid unnecessary downtime.
- Monitors parts and inventory levels and works with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes, order replacement parts, coordinate specialized service, and support maintenance needs.
- Evaluates equipment performance and identifies opportunities for efficiency improvements, cost savings, safety improvements, and increased equipment reliability.
- Supports equipment upgrades, process improvements, machinery modifications, facility improvements, and capital project planning as needed.
- Provides cross-department and cross-shift support to meet maintenance, production, safety, and business needs.
- Prepares and communicates reports related to maintenance activities, equipment performance, downtime, costs, repair status, and ongoing maintenance concerns.
- Communicates significant maintenance issues, equipment concerns, potential risks, repair needs, and operational impacts to management in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborates with external service providers, contractors, and vendors for specialized repairs, inspections, equipment support, and project work.
- Responds to emergency breakdowns or critical maintenance issues during the assigned shift and helps lead troubleshooting and repair efforts during unplanned downtime.
- Participates in continuous improvement efforts to improve maintenance procedures, equipment reliability, employee safety, operational efficiency, and cost control.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements: Ability to frequently walk, stand, climb, twist, reach, bend, and use hands/fingers/wrists to inspect equipment, use tools, operate machinery, enter information into computer systems, and complete documentation. Ability to work around heavy machinery, moving equipment, and industrial systems. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance as needed.
Environmental Requirements: Ability to work in the following environments: Manufacturing Plant — primary work environment, not climate controlled with variable temperatures, loud noise, heavy machinery, and active production areas. Office/Maintenance Shop — secondary work environment. PPE is required and may include safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, slip-resistant shoes, and other required protective equipment.
Communication Requirements: Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions, safety rules, maintenance procedures, equipment manuals, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Ability to communicate effectively with maintenance technicians, production employees, supervisors, managers, QA personnel, vendors, contractors, and other departments. Ability to complete required documentation, reports, work orders, and maintenance records accurately and timely.

Education/Training/Skills/Experience/Personal Attributes:
- Associates or Bachelors degree or technical certification in industrial maintenance, industrial technology or engineering desired, substitution for educational requirements may be high school diploma or equivalent with trade certifications, 8 years in industrial maintenance and 3 years in supervisory role.
- Technical certification in maintenance, industrial technology, electrical, mechanical, or manufacturing trades.
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing maintenance experience, preferably in union environment.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or lead-person experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting, food manufacturing highly desirable
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team management skills.
- Strong knowledge of industrial machinery and equipment, including mechanical, electrical, automated, conveyor, boiler, refrigeration, processing, and packaging systems.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems required; Maximo/CMMS experience preferred.
- Familiarity with OSHA, HACCP, SQF, USDA, FDA, food safety, environmental, and operational compliance requirements preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, decision-making, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to manage maintenance schedules, work orders, spare parts, vendors, downtime, and emergency repairs.
- Computer skills required, including the ability to use maintenance systems, email, documentation tools, and basic Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing and collaborating within a larger team environment.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience, training, and knowledge. Supervisors, receive base salary and are eligible for premium pay for all hours after 46 in a pay week.
