Based on our internal equity review process, the starting hourly wage for this position will be $23.19
To allow for growth and salary progression the full hourly range is $23.19- $31.74. Employees will have the opportunity to move through the posted range based on annual performance reviews and merit increases.

Position Information
Under the direction of assigned supervisor or coordinator, provide administrative service and oversee all aspects of customer service program within one or more assigned facility.
- Greet and assist customers with registration and general reception services, disseminate policy and regulation information and marketing materials; resolve customer issues as appropriate.
- Hire, train, schedule and provide work direction and assistance to assigned part-time and seasonal staff at assigned location. Assist with providing training and technical assistance to customer service staff within the Parks and Recreation Department regarding uniforms, policies and informational functions.
- Operate a centralized telephone switchboard, directing calls to appropriate personnel, departments and offices. Receive and transmit messages, provide general information, assistance and direction to callers and visitors concerning Park District functions, events, facilities and programs.
- Receive, open, sort, categorize, prioritize and stamp incoming United States internal Park District mail. Meter and process mail and deliver to US Post Office on a daily basis. Distribute incoming mail to appropriate personnel. Manage department mail room.
- Operate a motorized vehicle to travel to multiple locations to carry out essential duties. Adhere to all driving laws and safety rules.
- Collect and count money and make change. Reconcile till to cash receipt and prepare monies for bank deposits and weekly revenue reports. Perform revenue reports and make deposits in a timely manner.
- Perform general clerical duties for departments and staff, including maintaining records and logs, typing a variety of forms, materials, envelopes, labels and memoranda that support program registration.
- Provide support to program staff as requested by supervisor. Schedule and post meeting room usage.
- Provide data entry and back up support in order to audit and manage the integrity of the customer relations database.
- Prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports related to front desk operations. Attend meetings as requested.
- May be assigned to manage a check out system for the Parks and Recreation Department's specialized equipment such as laptops and cameras.
- Order and maintain adequate stocks of office supplies for central store room and program staff. Maintain inventory records as assigned.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Must have at least two years of customer service and/or clerical experience.
Possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (a current driving abstract will be requested during the reference process at applicant's expense.)
Must be able to work a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings and/or weekends.

- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate computer keyboard and standard office equipment.
- Safe operations of a motor vehicle.
- Ability to lift at least 10 pounds to shoulder height.

ABILITY TO:
- Work mornings, evenings, and/or weekends on regular basis.
- Perform a variety of responsible clerical duties.
- Operate office equipment and machines such as calculators, copiers, computer, word processing and transcription equipment, postage machine, fax machine.
- Operate a telephone switchboard, directing calls to appropriate personnel, departments and offices; receive and transmit messages; provide general information and assistance to callers; problem-solve customer needs for proper routing.
- Greet visitors of the facility in a courteous and helpful manner; provide information, directions and assistance concerning Park District events, facilities and activities.
- Receive, sort, meter and process US and internal Park District mail; learn regular, express and bulk mail postage rates and procedures.
- Maintain routine records and logs.
- Perform simple and repetitive tasks.
- Interpret and apply rules and regulations.
- Perform emergency first aid and CPR as needed and according to established guidelines.
- Communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
- Assess and evaluate situations effectively.
- Exert optimal effort in successfully completing tasks.
- Take initiative with minimal supervision.
- Extract and record data and carry out calculations accurately.
- Set up and operate equipment that can require selection from options or different settings.
