About the Role:

The Shift Lead in the Non-Durable Goods Manufacturing sector plays a critical role in overseeing daily production operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety standards are consistently met. This position is responsible for managing and motivating a team of production workers, coordinating workflow, and addressing any operational challenges that arise during the shift. The Shift Lead acts as a liaison between management and frontline employees, facilitating clear communication and timely resolution of issues. They ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes. Ultimately, the Shift Lead drives productivity while maintaining a safe and positive work environment that supports the company’s manufacturing goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in non-durable goods production.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including supervising or leading a team.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and safety standards.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or technical certification in manufacturing, industrial technology, or related field.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with quality control systems and regulatory compliance in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in using manufacturing software and data tracking tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience in conflict resolution.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of production team members during assigned shifts to meet production targets and quality standards.
  • Monitor equipment operation and production processes, identifying and resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations to maintain a safe workplace.
  • Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to team members to foster skill development and high morale.
  • Collaborate with management to implement process improvements and communicate shift performance metrics and challenges.
