United Center Building Security (3rd Shift 11:45pm – 8am)

Part time / Evening and weekends availability required

• United Center

General Responsibilities:

Providing each guest and employees with a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable environment to view events through knowledge of Security procedures and facility familiarization at United Center.

Demonstrated Skills: 

• Must have security experience and/or PERC card. (Event experience or Criminal Justice studies preferred)
• Flexible work schedule including evening and weekend hours
• Average work hours will total 20 hours per week
• Must be a positive, outgoing individual able to work well with large groups of people
• Excellent verbal communication skills and decision-making ability
• Ability to sit or walk up to 2/3 of the work shift
• Must be able to speak,readandcomprehendEnglish
• Basic knowledge of computers and software related to the Security field
• Customer Service Skills

Specific Duties: 

• Create a safe and secure environment for guest and employees
• Monitor CCTV, door alarms, alarm systems
• Reportunsafe and unpresentable circumstances within the work area.
• Provide exceptional customer service byassistingguests, resolving concerns, and distributing promotional items.
• Monitor facility security through patrols, stationed posts, and vehicle operations.
• Conduct screenings of employees, contractors, and media using magnetometers.
• Document incidents accurately and enforce facility policies tomaintainsafety and security.
• Support facility operations through lifting, transporting items, andmaintainingknowledge of layout and services.
• Miscellaneous operational (day of event) duties as directed

Qualifications:  

• Mustbe able to work well with large groups of people.
• Strong communicationskills, both written and verbal.
• Must be able to speak,readandcomprehendEnglish.
• Basic knowledge of security programs.
• Must have weekend and holiday availability.
• Ability to solve problems, and handle situations with limited standardization.
• Previoussecurity, military, and/or law enforcementexperience.
• PERC Card certification
• Valid driver’s license.
• Mustbe20 yearsof age or older
• Valid Driver’s License
• Must be able to fully perform the essential functions of the job
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds up to 2/3 of the work shift

Additional information:  

• Pay Rate = $20per hour
• The individual is required to walk up and down several stairs through out the duration of the event. The individual maybe required to work in high, precarious places, or work in outdoor weather conditions.

·        The position requires ability to stand for 2/3 of shift. The use of hands, stooping, kneeling or reaching with hands may be required during shift. There may be lifting up to 10 pounds. Vision requirements: color and the ability to focus. Team members are expected to fully perform the essential functions of the job.
