Job Summary:
The Shipping Associate is responsible for supporting daily shipping operations by ensuring customer orders are processed accurately, documented properly, and shipped on time. This role plays a key part in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting warehouse operations, and delivering exceptional service to both internal and external customers. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and is committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Follow all company safety policies and maintain a safe work environment.
- Coordinate with warehouse team members and leadership to ensure efficient shipping operations.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain shipping documentation to support audits, shipment tracking, and research.
- Participate in daily team meetings and communicate operational updates.
- Process customer orders, including small parcel and drop shipments.
- Support Full Truckload (FTL) and Less Than Truckload (LTL) shipping operations.
- Load, unload, and move materials using approved warehouse equipment.
- Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and shipping software to accurately process shipments.
- Verify product labeling, shipping documentation, and order accuracy before shipment.
- Assist with inventory movement, organization, and cycle count activities as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area following 5S standards.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Previous warehouse, shipping, or logistics experience preferred.Minimum of one year of experience working in a fast-paced environment.Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and shipping software.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions and shipping documentation.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve routine operational issues.
Preferred:
- Experience with domestic and international shipping.
- Experience operating material handling equipment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, and move throughout the workday.
- Ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying seasonal temperatures.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and varying schedules based on business needs.
