About the Role:
The Evening Housekeeping Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized manufacturing environment during the evening shift. This position is responsible for overseeing the housekeeping team to ensure all cleaning and maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. The supervisor will coordinate daily activities, manage staff schedules, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations specific to the manufacturing industry. By fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability, the supervisor helps to minimize downtime and supports overall operational productivity. Ultimately, this role ensures that the manufacturing facility remains a hygienic and orderly workplace, contributing to the quality and safety of the production process.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in housekeeping or janitorial services, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety standards related to industrial housekeeping.
- Ability to work evening shifts and manage a team effectively.
- Ability to lift, push pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time, bend, crouch or climbs/descend stairs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in industrial cleaning or facility management.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- First aid and CPR certification.
- Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution and team leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead the evening housekeeping team to ensure all cleaning duties are performed thoroughly and on schedule.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures tailored to the manufacturing environment.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify areas requiring attention and ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate housekeeping staff to promote professional development and maintain high performance levels.
- Coordinate with other departments to minimize disruption to manufacturing operations while maintaining cleanliness.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and proper maintenance.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, staff attendance, and incident reports.
Skills:
The required skills enable the supervisor to effectively organize and oversee housekeeping operations, ensuring that cleaning tasks meet stringent manufacturing standards. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety regulations is essential for maintaining a safe work environment and preventing contamination or accidents. Supervisory and communication skills are used daily to lead the team, provide clear instructions, and resolve any issues that arise during the shift.
