Job Description
Do you have a passion for providing confidential mental health and co-occurring counseling services in a fast-paced outpatient setting with a flexible schedule and Friday afternoons off? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to work as an Outpatient Therapist and make a difference in our community.
What You Will Be Doing
In addition to providing counseling, as a Outpatient Therapist providing high-quality, evidence-based behavioral health services to adults experiencing a range of mental health and life challenges. This position will focus primarily on One Session at a Time Therapy (OSAT), a brief intervention model designed to help clients identify and address a specific concern, develop practical strategies, and make meaningful progress within a focused episode of care. Therapists will use clinical expertise, evidence-based interventions, and a collaborative, person-centered approach to help clients make the most of each session.
The ideal candidate is a skilled, flexible clinician who is comfortable working within a brief, goal-oriented model and enjoys helping clients identify actionable solutions in a relatively short period of time. The therapist will complete assessments, develop focused treatment goals, provide targeted interventions, and connect clients with additional services or ongoing care when appropriate. This position offers an opportunity to practice efficient, purposeful therapy while increasing access to timely behavioral health services for adults in the community.

What We Require
You will be a Master’s level licensed professional with a minimum of two years of post masters experience, three years strongly preferred. You will have extensive knowledge of the DSM V diagnostic criteria, co-occurring disorders, substance use disorders, evidence-based and promising practice interventions, and familiarity with psychotropic medications, experience with involuntary hospitalization procedures and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will have an a LMSW or LPC license.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
Physical Efforts – Job demands include prolonged sitting and standing as appropriate. May occasionally require light lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending as appropriate. Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot.
Working Conditions – Office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones. Use of computer monitor for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time. Possible eyestrain from extended periods of viewing computer. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites. Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area is required.
