Description:

University Center for Pain Management is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (MA) to join our growing practice at UT Medical Center. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of clinical experience, proficiency with the Athena EMR systems, and a strong understanding of clinical operations. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting providers and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures.
  • Perform routine clinical tasks including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and documenting patient histories.
  • Manage and complete pre-authorization requests and tasks as needed.
  • Work alongside a provider 4 days a week, aiding with patient care and ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of medical supplies, ensuring adequate stock.
  • Order and restock supplies as necessary to maintain smooth clinic operations.
  • Utilize the EMR system to accurately input patient information and track medical records.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a clinical setting.
  • Proficiency with the Athena EMR systems and understanding of medical documentation.
  • Experience with pre-authorizations preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) is required.
