Job Description
We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Concierge to provide evening and weekend coverage in a retirement living community. This position is primarily scheduled for weekday evenings (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) and weekends and requires a high degree of flexibility to assist with shift coverage as operational needs arise. The Concierge serves as the first point of contact for residents, families, guests, and service providers while ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and smooth operation of the community during evening hours.

Flexible availability is required
Must be willing and able to cover additional shifts, vacations, and unexpected absences when needed
Welcome residents, visitors, and contractors in a professional and friendly manner.
Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and provide exceptional customer service.
Complete resident attendance checks and perform wellness follow-ups when residents are unaccounted for.
Respond appropriately to resident concerns, emergencies, and incidents.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Assist with the setup and facilitation of resident activities and events.
Restore common areas following activities by cleaning tables, chairs, and equipment and returning furniture to its original arrangement.
Collect dishes, cups, and garbage from common areas and return items to the kitchen.
Ensure gym equipment and shared spaces are cleaned and maintained.
Perform regular sanitization of high-touch surfaces throughout the building.
Maintain and restock public and staff washrooms.
Conduct daily walkthroughs to ensure common areas are clean, organized, and secure.
Empty garbage rooms and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
Complete kitchen laundry and maintain supplies.
Close and secure common rooms and ensure lights, televisions, music, and fireplaces are turned off at the end of the evening.
Review communication logs, emails, and shift reports.
Document resident incidents, emergencies, and concerns accurately.
Complete incident reports as required.
Post daily menus and update activity information.
Prepare and send end-of-shift communication to the leadership team.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
Comfortable responding to emergencies and performing resident wellness checks.
Ability to maintain a clean, welcoming, and safe environment.
Previous customer service, concierge, hospitality, retirement living, or healthcare experience is considered an asset.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Ability to push carts and transport supplies throughout the building.
Ability to perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
Criminal Record Check required.
CPR/First Aid certification is considered an asset.
Reliable and flexible with availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and provide coverage for additional shifts when required.
