Job Summary: Reporting to the HSE Director, the HSE Coordinator will be responsible for the daily coordination that ensures all employees complete their work safely. They certify all safety standards are being followed based on company and client requirements. Coordinators also monitor working conditions and resolve any safety issues that may arise. Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following: · Create and implement safety plans while ensuring that they are being followed daily. · Perform worksite inspections and audits to ensure implementation of the program, identify improvement opportunities and ensure compliance. · Attend safety walks and inspections on a regular basis to analyze safety risks. · Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace. · Assisting in the development of procedures for safety standards and best practices in a team environment through frequent interaction and open communication with managers, employees, subcontractors, and clients. · Conducting and coordinating worker safety training in areas such as safety standards and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment for new and current employees. ·Ensuring compliance with company, OSHA, customer, state, and local regulations; and supports safety efforts to continuously improve overall site safety culture. ·Conducting interactive training to help field personnel acquire necessary skills/knowledge/certifications. ·Investigating and documenting near miss and/or work-related incidents. · Working with job-site personnel and project teams to perform root-cause analysts, evaluate information, and implement corrective solutions. · Lead and coordinate the implementation of the HSE Program to ensure requirements are consistently and correctly applied. ·Assist with coaching and mentoring worksite personnel on HSE related matters. ·Review sub-contractor HSE programs, processes and plans proposed by sub-contractors and monitor adherence and their performance. ·Advise on HSE compliance issues and assist in developing mitigation methods and implementing corrective actions. ·Maintain, monitor, and provide on-time reporting of HSE performance, statistics, records and incident and injury reports. ·Orientate and train personnel on HSE policies, procedures, and practices. What you need to succeed: ·3-5 years of experience as a safety coordinator or trained in a well-structured construction safety program ·Previous field construction experience ·Strong knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations as they apply to construction ·Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement effective corrective measures ·Excellent verbal and written communication skills ·Candidates who are English/Spanish bi-lingual (preferred but not mandatory) ·OSHA 30, CSST, OSHT, COSS, or equivalent certifications. ·Must have TWIC Our ideal candidate can work effectively in a highly collaborative and team-based environment; can set goals and expectations and hold others accountable; can encourage and mentor others; can quickly gain trust and respect and is able to establish and maintain relationships.
