Senior Agile Business Analyst (AI / Agentic Solutions) in Washington, District of Columbia at C Mack Solutions LLC
Job Description
C. Mack Solutions is seeking a Senior Agile Business Analyst to support a mission-critical Federal Government program. You will lead the analysis, definition, and documentation of business requirements for software solutions that advance organizational goals. With a growing focus on generative AI and agentic capabilities, you will evaluate current processes, identify opportunities to simplify and automate work, and translate those opportunities into clear, testable requirements for development teams.
You will work collaboratively with the team while independently leading complex analysis, exercising judgment in ambiguous situations, and working independently with key clients. Success in this senior individual-contributor role requires a consistent focus on delivering stakeholder value.
Responsibilities:
Business & Process Analysis
• Prepare and maintain operating procedures, user guides, and process documentation that help stakeholders operate efficiently and effectively
• Advise program leadership and product owners on process improvement, change management, and prioritization trade-offs
Agile Requirements
• Use a range of elicitation techniques to facilitate meetings and workshops, build shared understanding among stakeholders and team members, and produce agreed requirements without excessive documentation.
• Requirements analysis: collaborate with stakeholders and product teams to decompose epics into features and user stories the development team can understand, estimate, and deliver
• Write clear user stories and acceptance criteria; support the Product Owner with prioritization and backlog refinement
• Manage user stories, backlogs, and release tracking in Jira, and maintain requirements, release notes, and process documentation in Confluence
• Conduct and coordinate testing, including functional testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), automated acceptance testing (AAT), and specification by example
AI & Agentic Solutions
• Identify and evaluate candidate use cases for generative AI and AI agents, assessing business value, feasibility, data availability, and risk
• Elicit and document requirements for AI-enabled and agentic capabilities, including agent goals, workflow steps, tool and system integrations, decision boundaries, and human-in-the-loop review and escalation points
• Define acceptance criteria and evaluation approaches suited to non-deterministic AI outputs (e.g., accuracy, consistency, and failure-handling expectations), and support testing of AI features
• Partner with developers and AI engineers on prompt design, grounding/retrieval data sources, and iterative refinement of agent behavior
• Capture responsible-AI, privacy, security, and records requirements, and help ensure AI solutions align with applicable federal AI governance and agency policy
• Help stakeholders understand AI capabilities and limitations, and support adoption and change management for AI-enabled workflows
Collaboration & Leadership
• Communicate business expectations to technical experts in ways that produce the desired outcome; build trust and rapport with technical and non-technical team members, clients, and stakeholders
• Work independently to deliver results, and provide guidance and mentoring to junior analysts
Requirements:You must live within the DC, MD, VA area.
U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidate must be able to obtain CBP Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.); a focus in Computer Information Systems, Business Management, Engineering, or a related area of study is a plus
• 7+ years of professional experience in business analysis, management/program analysis, or related IT consulting, including requirements analysis on Agile software development teams
• Strong experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria; working knowledge of Scrum and the Product Owner role
• Proficiency with the Atlassian toolset, primarily Jira and Confluence, for managing user stories, backlogs, releases, and documentation
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience supporting generative AI or AI/ML initiatives, including defining requirements for, testing, or helping deploy LLM-based features, assistants, or automation.
• Working knowledge of agentic AI concepts — agents, tool/function calling, multi-step workflows, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and human-in-the-loop controls — and the ability to translate them into implementable requirements
• Practical prompt-engineering skills and experience evaluating the quality and reliability of AI outputs
• Understanding of change management practices
• Strong analytical aptitude and the ability to structure complex or undefined business problems
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation); excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Google Gemini experience strongly preferred — e.g., working with Gemini models through Google Cloud Vertex AI or Gemini for Google Workspace
• Experience on agentic development efforts, including exposure to agent frameworks such as Google’s Agent Development Kit (ADK), LangChain/LangGraph, or similar
• Experience with AI evaluation, red-teaming, or quality-assurance practices for LLM applications
• Familiarity with federal AI governance, risk management, and responsible-AI practices (e.g., NIST AI Risk Management Framework)
• Federal experience, ideally within DHS or a law enforcement / regulated environment
• Prior consulting experience
• Applicable certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, CSM, CSPO, CSP, ITIL, or a Google Cloud generative AI certification
