Warehouse Associate
Location: Black Mountain, NC
Pay: $20/hour
Shift: 6:00 AM -2:30 PM | Monday Friday
Job Summary
Friday Workforce Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist for a manufacturing client in Black Mountain, NC. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory, supporting production with timely material availability, coordinating receiving activities, and ensuring efficient inventory flow throughout the facility. The ideal candidate has experience in inventory control, shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, or manufacturing support. This role works closely with production, purchasing, and operations to maintain inventory accuracy and ensure production schedules stay on track.
Responsibilities
Inventory Control
Maintain accurate inventory records using the ERP system.
Perform daily inventory transactions, cycle counts, and inventory audits.
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate potential shortages.
Organize inventory locations to promote efficient material flow.
Assist with inventory planning and stock replenishment.
Receiving & Material Management
Receive and inspect incoming materials against purchase orders and packing slips.
Verify quantities, part numbers, and product condition.
Label, store, and organize inventory in designated warehouse locations.
Coordinate the movement of materials throughout the manufacturing facility.
Maintain accurate receiving documentation and inventory records.
Production Support
Pull and stage materials for production work orders.
Ensure production teams have the materials needed to meet production schedules.
Work closely with production and operations to resolve material shortages.
Maintain organized staging areas and warehouse storage locations.
Inventory Systems & Reporting
Enter inventory transactions accurately into the ERP system.
Generate inventory reports and assist with inventory analysis.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve inventory accuracy and warehouse efficiency.
Maintain accurate documentation and records.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
2+ years of inventory control, warehouse, shipping and receiving, or manufacturing experience preferred.
Experience with ERP or inventory management systems required.
SAP or Oracle EBS experience is preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Forklift experience or certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the workday.
Comfortable working in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
Ability to safely operate material handling equipment as needed.
