Job Description
Atterdag Village of Solvang is a Continuing Care Retirement Community, offering our residents independent, assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing care. Our Activities team work together to provide the highest quality of care to our residents, proving that we are People Who Care.
- Implements daily activities for the Atterdag Independent Living per state regulations.
- Communicates to residents verbally, in writing or by gesturing planned daily activities.
- Transports residents to and from activity locations, which may include some driving of vehicles and golf carts.
- Assist residents while in activity as deemed necessary for their highest participation level. Including monitoring of residents for limitations and distress to prevent discomfort and/or injury.
- Keeps activity logs and communicates assessment of the residents to Independent Living Director and Medical Staff to assure each resident’s needs are met.
- Assists in the recruitment, training, orientation and scheduling of volunteers and outside groups who perform or act as volunteers.
- Maintains current awareness of new policies and procedures affecting the department and organization.
- Assists Activities Director in organizing and publish resident activities calendar.
- Previous experience in a retirement community, nursing facility, RCFE or geriatric setting preferred.

Requirements
- Must pass state required physical, and TB test.
- Must be fingerprinted and free of conviction.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing, receive written and oral instructions and possess good interaction skills.
- Must be able to safely perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Prior experience prefered.
