Job Description
POSITION: Industrial Electrician I
REPORTS TO: Superintendent of Electric Maintenance
JOB OBJECTIVE:
• Ensure the maintenance and functionality of electrical equipment across Power Plants, Substations, Wells, Pump Stations, Solar Arrays, Wastewater Treatment Facilities, and other Easton Utilities and Town of Easton facilities.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with on-call responsibilities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work under general supervision on assigned tasks such as cleaning, inspecting, repairing, maintaining, and installing electrical equipment.
• Adhere strictly to instructions, safety protocols, and established procedures while performing all tasks.
• Provide support during electrical outages, generator startups, and emergency situations, including adverse weather conditions.
• Work safely at heights on ladders, towers, lifts, and similar structures.
• Maintain a high standard of reliability, punctuality, and job attendance.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Must be part of an on-call rotation.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to kneel, squat, climb, sit, stand, lift, pull, and carry equipment.
• Capable of performing in noisy environments and extreme weather conditions, including exposure to engine room noise and heat.
• Must always wear proper PPE.

MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Work under general supervision in the installation and maintenance of electrical lighting, outlets, breakers, panels, conduit and wiring for new and existing electrical equipment.
• Work under direct supervision, installing, troubleshooting, and performing maintenance on electric motors, starters, VFDs, breakers, transformers, switchgear, generators, exciters, and other associated electrical equipment.
• Work under direct supervision installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telephone, communication, computer, and closed-circuit television systems.
• Work under general supervision performing substation inspections.
• Work under direct supervision installing and maintaining Town of Easton (TOE) traffic control systems.
• Work under direct supervision performing switching in substations and power plants.
• Work under direct supervision performing basic maintenance, inspections and tasks on all Easton Utilities facilities.
• Keep calibration records for maintenance done on motors, generators, breakers, and other electrical equipment.
• Perform emergency work as needed on the power plant, substation, and other EUC and TOE facilities and equipment.
• Enhance the Electric Department’s service and productivity by providing support to other departments and employees, filling in and completing other duties as requested by the Electrical Superintendent or the Electric Department Manager.
Monday - Thursday OR Tuesday - Friday 10 hour shifts
