This role offers the opportunity to lead afternoon logistics operations within a fast-paced transport environment.

The PM Shift Supervisor will be responsible for leading daily afternoon operations, ensuring freight movements are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently. This role requires a hands-on leader who can support teams, manage operational challenges, and drive continuous improvement across depot activities.
- Lead and supervise drivers, forklift operators, and warehouse teams to achieve operational targets and service commitments.
- Coordinate daily pickup, delivery, dispatch, and freight handling activities to maintain smooth operations.
- Oversee inbound and outbound freight processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Coach, support, and motivate team members while promoting accountability and high performance.
- Conduct pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, and safety discussions to reinforce workplace standards.
- Promote compliance with safety requirements, including Chain of Responsibility (CoR), workplace health and safety policies, and operational procedures.
- Monitor fleet and equipment utilisation, escalating maintenance requirements and operational concerns when needed.
- Resolve service disruptions, operational issues, and customer-related challenges in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure consistent service delivery.
- Monitor freight scanning, tracking, and reporting processes to maintain operational visibility.
- Support workforce planning, rostering, labour allocation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Complete operational reporting and contribute ideas to improve efficiency and team performance.
The ideal candidate will bring proven frontline leadership experience within transport, logistics, or warehousing environments. They should be confident managing operational teams, solving problems under pressure, and creating a positive safety-focused workplace culture.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within transport, logistics, freight, or warehouse operations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead frontline teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong understanding of freight handling, depot operations, and transport processes.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions and resolve issues effectively under pressure.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing operational demands.
- Experience using transport management systems and operational reporting tools.
- Commitment to workplace safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Flexibility to work rotating afternoon shifts, including 1:00pm–9:00pm and 2:00pm–10:00pm schedules.
- Current driver's licence required.
- Forklift licence is desirable.
