Connect for Health Colorado is a public, non-profit entity established by the Colorado General Assembly in 2011 to create a health insurance Marketplace. Since 2013, we’ve been helping individuals, families and small employers compare plans, apply for financial help and buy health insurance. As Colorado’s official health insurance marketplace, we are the only place to apply for financial help to lower the monthly cost of premiums. Customers can shop online; get help by phone or online chat from Customer Service Center representatives; and access expert help from a statewide network of certified Brokers and community-based Assisters. Position Summary:
The Regional Enrollment Support Specialist, under direction of the Senior Manager of Broker and Assister Operations, oversees efforts to improve and guide the enrollment experience for Connect for Health Colorado’s customers. This position will work closely with the Assistance Network Team to ensure minimization of education and enrollment assistance gaps in and around Summit County. This position will strive to reach Marketplace, Colorado Connect, and Medicaid/CHP+ eligible individuals and families by offering Health Insurance Literacy, financial assistance application support, and enrollment assistance, including customers needing Assister services, underrepresented populations, and under or uninsured individuals and families. The position also develops targeted, localized marketing and outreach efforts as deemed necessary to meet the organization’s goals.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and enrollment eligibility support for current and potential Marketplace, Colorado Connect, and Medicaid/CHP+ enrollees.
- Support Connect for Health Colorado’s mission to increase access, affordability, and choice by maintaining expertise in eligibility, enrollment, and program specifications to raise awareness about the Marketplace and Colorado Connect while providing Assister services: one-on-one interactions with Coloradans including account/enrollment support, Health Insurance Literacy, and education on federal/state changes, etc.
- Provide fair, accurate, and impartial information to individuals and families about the full range of health coverage options and financial assistance programs for which they are eligible, including C4HCO and Colorado Connect; availability of other health coverage programs, including Medicaid and CHP+, and private health insurance coverage, and eligibility for Premium Tax Credits, Cost-Sharing Reductions, and SilverEnhanced Savings.
- Offer direct Enrollment Assistance by helping individuals and families apply for health coverage and insurance affordability programs, as applicable, while providing distinctions between available plans.
- Provide information in a manner that is culturally and linguistically appropriate to the needs of the population served.
- Communicate important information to customers receiving enrollment assistance; verification requirements, if needed; health insurance literacy; renewal reminders; follow-ups with those who did not enroll at time of appointment.
- Host/attend community events or workshops targeting customers who may need health coverage assistance; conduct community outreach and education; maintain and distribute resource materials to targeted populations and partners.
- Provide business-to-business education about health coverage options and individual impacts of federal or state changes; create and maintain referral networks to assist with health coverage.
- Colorado Resident, local to Summit County preferred.
- High school education required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in community coordinating, communications, social services, medical billing or public service roles, preferably in healthcare or health insurance.
- Familiarity with Connect for Health Colorado’s mission and customer base preferred.
- Committed team player with exceptional interpersonal, problem solving and communications skills (verbal and written).
- Demonstrated knowledge of CBMS, Connect for Health Colorado systems, and individual market eligibility rules.
- Experienced and comfortable speaking in public and presenting to large groups.
- Self-starter who can drive toward results independently, creating and implementing programs and systems from scratch.
- Strong understanding of the healthcare or health insurance industry.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple, complex projects with competing deadlines.
- Enthusiasm, sense of humor, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to assume responsibility and maintain confidentiality consistent with the values and integrity of the Marketplace.
- Command of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).
Work Environment:
- Currently working remotely.
- The Connect for Health Colorado office is in the North Tech Center area of Denver, near the intersection of I-25 and I-225.
- Work schedule may include some non-traditional hours, weekends, and evening events.
- Core office hours are typically 8 am-5 pm with some flexibility.
Total Compensation:
Connect for Health Colorado offers a competitive benefits package. Employees are offered a robust benefits package and may elect from various offerings to tailor a package best suited to their individual needs. Connect for Health Colorado employees are eligible to participate in the organization’s 403(b) plan and are additionally provided with paid time off, short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance. The salary of this position is $55,620 - $70,040 per year.
