Job Description

With roots in northeast Indiana, we are a family-owned company that has been raising and processing organic and all-natural chicken with the help of local farm families for over 30 years. We are vertically integrated and oversee every process within the company, from our chicks hatching at our family-owned hatchery, being placed within our community of more than 180 farm families, to owning two feed mills that process our corn and soybean meal mixture. We do our best to source our feed ingredients from local farmers to minimize our carbon footprint. Oversee refrigeration and utility operations within the plant. Directly lead and train refrigeration team members in all aspects of refrigeration and utilities. Communicating with refrigeration manager on day to day activities and needs of the plant and team members. Ensure all safety policies and protocols are followed and adhered to.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Oversee Refrigeration & Utility Technician's work list and assure it is completed in a safe and timely manner
  • Train existing and new refrigeration and utilities technicians
  • Coordinate refrigeration and utility maintenance activities with refrigeration manager
  • Lead maintenance on all plant refrigeration and utility equipment including routine and preventative maintenance
  • Ensure all plant processes are operating mechanically to plant standards and expectations
  • Assist manager in planning and execution of new equipment installations.
  • Help lead monthly safety meetings with refrigeration and utility personnel on various topics
  • Must pass all tests and verifications for: LOTO, pallet jack, forklift, scissor lift, Ammonia system, confined spaces, Hazmat and electrical safety (Arc flash)
  • Climb heights
  • Complete all exterior and interior repairs as needed

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Experience: Must possess 5+ years of maintenance/refrigeration experience.

Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of computers

Certificates & Licenses: CIRO certification not required but preferred

Shift

1st shift Full Time/Mon-Fri/ Weekends required/40-50 Hours per week
