Reports To: Site Lead – Dagenham
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality & EHS Engineer to support our Dagenham operations. This role plays a key part in maintaining our Quality Management System (QMS), driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with operational teams to promote a culture of quality, safety, and operational excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Management- Support the maintenance and continual improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
- Monitor, analyze, and report Quality and EHS KPIs, supporting improvement actions.
- Assist with customer complaints and warranty investigations, ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented.
- Conduct internal audits and support audit preparation, execution, and close-out activities.
- Create, review, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and documentation.
- Support external audits, certification processes, and compliance activities.
- Assist in maintaining RISQS accreditation requirements.
- Maintain employee competency records and training matrices.
- Support supplier quality management, including audits and performance reviews.
- Ensure calibration activities are completed and documented in line with company requirements.
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHS policies and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and support the implementation of appropriate control measures.
- Perform site inspections and assist with corrective and preventive actions.
- Deliver EHS awareness activities and support employee training programs.
- Help ensure compliance with corporate EHS requirements and industry regulations.
- Support external audits and regulatory inspections.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and improvement actions.
- Assist with PPE management and distribution.
- Ensure EHS inductions are completed and accurately recorded.
- Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
- Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering, rail, industrial, or operational environment.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Understanding of EHS legislation, risk assessments, and safe working practices.
- Experience conducting audits and supporting compliance activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Internal Auditor qualification.
- NEBOSH Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent EHS qualification.
- Knowledge of RISQS accreditation requirements.
- Experience with supplier quality management and corrective action processes.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
