EMS Fleet Supervisor
FirstHealth of the Carolinas

FirstHealth of the Carolinas seeks a full-time EMS Fleet Supervisor to drive excellence in our Fleet Maintenance department. We need a decisive, hands-on leader to manage shop operations, implement efficient workflows, and hold technician teams to the highest standards of safety and accountability. This position requires proven experience in strategic team leadership, advanced emergency vehicle diagnostics, and a valid NC driver’s license to maintain peak fleet readiness.

Responsibilities

1. Uses appropriate problem-solving approach to plan performance of services.

2. Provides services with consideration of the physical, psycho-social, cultural/spiritual, and age-specific needs of those served.

  • Lubricating service, diagnose, repair, assemble, and maintain equipment and vehicle such as ambulances, automobiles, and trucks.
  • Performs general tire and repair work on equipment and vehicles.

  • Performs field or shop inspections of heavy and light equipment to determine repair needs or estimate cost of repairs.
  • Communicates status of repair, maintenance of fabrication work.
  • Maintains inventory of all supplies for units and bases.
  • Orders parts and receive/stock inventory.
  • Maintains inventory accountability and provide an inventory report each month.
  • Provides accountability and oversight of the EMS remount process.
  • Completes monthly inspections and quality control review of Fleet operations.
  • Maintains oversight of all vehicle repairs and services completed at the Star Fleet operations.
  • Responsible for scheduling all service for EMS vehicles.
  • Proficient with all computer-based programs used within Fleet operations.
  • Responds to EMS mechanical issues or accidents as required.

3. Uses equipment/supplies correctly.

  • Proposes necessary changes to systems, procedures, and equipment.

4. Uses appropriate safety and infection control measures.

5.Teaches/directs/advises/informs others in an appropriate manner.

  • Coaches, counsels, and appraises employees regarding performance and/or disciplinary matters according to FHC policy and philosophy.
  • Monitors the quality of work performed and intervenes, when appropriate, to correct or enhance services.

6.Reports/records information correctly.

  • Accurately updates manual and computerized records related to work activities.
  • Ensures appropriate and timely verbal and written communication to Administration, departmental staff and peers to facilitate flow and decision-making.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Current valid NC driver’s license (as appropriate) with a good driver history required.
  • Requires five (5) years full-time experience in a fleet service position, or a combination of leadership experience and education.
