POSITION TITLE: Assembly Technician Evenings (Creekside Cleanroom / High - Volume Assembly)

HOURLY PAY RANGE: $24.00/hr - $32.00/hr. Plus $2.00/hr shift differential.

SHIFT HOURS: 2:30pm to 11:00pm (Evenings)

LOCATION: Onsite at LSI Solutions in Victor, NY

JOB SUMMARY: The Assembly Technician is responsible for setting up, changing over, maintaining, troubleshooting, and providing technical support for the equipment used within their assigned assembly workcenter. They work with production, engineering, and quality teams to improve processes, install new equipment, support equipment qualifications, and ensure equipment functions as needed to meet production demand.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assembly Technician

• Troubleshoot and maintain manufacturing equipment to minimize line downtime: responding to ongoing interruptions in a timely manner.
• Accurately fill out equipment verification documentation (e.g., setup sheets, verification test data, etc.)
• Maintain accurate and compliant documentation to meet company and regulatory expectations.
• Perform preventive and unscheduled maintenance activities on equipment within their assigned workcenter.
• Support IQ, OQ, and PQ and related testing as directed by engineering/quality.
• Identify opportunities for improvement of manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Implement solutions to ongoing problems or improvement opportunities
• Assist in the development of new processes and changes to manufacturing equipment.
• Assists in layout planning and the moving of manufacturing equipment, as needed.
• Investigate root cause analysis and implement equipment-related corrective actions for quality issues under the direction of an engineer.
• Order consumables and tooling to ensure adequate inventory levels of normal-use items and equipment components are maintained.

Senior Assembly Technician

• Order and develop/design tooling/fixtures as needed.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accomplish all other duties and tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
• Work with Production Engineering Technicians and engineering to develop equipment setup and maintenance work instructions and documentation.
• Participate in regular cleaning activities within their assigned workcenter.
• Responsible for maintaining equipment listings and statuses within the asset management system.
• Support new product development teams, as requested.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Assembly Technician

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Assembly Technician

• Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
• Proficiency in standard office software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and proficiency to understand LSI products and processes.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Attention to detail, especially as it relates to identifying potential changes to or problems with manufacturing equipment or processes.
• Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance practices.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret schematics and drawings.

Senior Assembly Technician

• Understanding of infrastructural equipment, utilities, and environmental monitoring, required within their assigned workcenter.
• Familiarity with 2D CAD design.
• Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot/root cause mechanical issues, provide feedback and recommendations.
• Proficient in reading, understanding, and interpreting schematics and drawings.

• Where assigned to a cleanroom, regularly required to work in a cleanroom environment, which requires the use of gowning, wearing various coverings, and adhering to strict cleanliness control practices.
• Required to perform cleaning and be involved in cleaning related activities.
• Required to perform or facilitate testing or other functions during non-standard shift (i.e., “off hours”).
• Frequently required to lift and/or carry up to 30 lbs.
• Occasionally required to push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• Occasionally required to climb, reach, and perform repetitive motion.
• Regularly required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and handle.
• Regularly required to talk and/or hear, see, see color, and depth perception.
• Able to travel for outside training or meetings with vendors, as needed.
