This role leads local fundraising efforts that support the financial sustainability and continued growth of a mission-driven nonprofit chapter serving military and veteran-connected families. Working closely with the Chapter Executive Director and national Development team, you will build donor relationships, develop strategic partnerships, and pursue funding opportunities aligned with local priorities. The position combines individual giving, corporate sponsorships, foundation relations, grant support, and community engagement. You will manage a portfolio of prospects and help move relationships from identification through solicitation and long-term stewardship. The role offers meaningful autonomy within a collaborative, remote-first environment while maintaining a strong connection to the local community. It is well suited to an experienced fundraiser who is passionate about building relationships and creating measurable community impact.

• Support the Chapter Executive Director in developing and executing local fundraising strategies designed to meet or exceed chapter revenue goals.
• Achieve an annual fundraising goal of at least $100,000.
• Build, qualify, and actively manage a portfolio of at least 30 new major gift prospects, advancing relationships through cultivation, solicitation, and long-term engagement.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundation partners.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director and national Development team to identify and pursue funding opportunities aligned with chapter programs and strategic priorities.
• Support donor recognition initiatives and maintain consistent, high-quality communication with funders and supporters.
• Help plan and execute donor engagement events, fundraising activities, and community-facing initiatives.
• Maintain accurate donor records, prospect information, and engagement activity in CRM systems such as Salesforce.
• Support grant proposal development, submission, tracking, and reporting.
• Partner with local program teams to connect fundraising efforts with community outcomes and organizational impact.
• Represent the chapter at sponsored events, community gatherings, and networking opportunities to strengthen visibility and relationships.
• Travel locally as needed and participate in periodic overnight offsites, planning sessions, retreats, and organization-wide gatherings.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of relevant nonprofit fundraising experience.
• Demonstrated success in individual giving, corporate sponsorships, grant writing, and/or major fundraising events.
• Strong relationship-building, written communication, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to identify and cultivate prospects, develop donor relationships, and advance opportunities through the fundraising lifecycle.
• Self-motivated and proactive approach, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed teams.
• Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce to manage donor and prospect activity.
• Ability to travel locally up to 40% or less depending on business needs.
• Ability to travel out of town overnight several times per year for organizational gatherings and strategic planning activities.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays when required by fundraising and community activities.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of the military family experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with membership-driven organizations and community-based nonprofit environments is a plus.
• Demonstrated involvement in social, civic, and/or community organizations is valued.
• Knowledge of the local philanthropic landscape and funding community is preferred.
• Must reside within the local community served by the chapter, with preference for candidates who have lived in the designated chapter community for at least three years.
