Regional Advisor (RA) supports EPRI International’s engagement in an assigned country or region through a combination of technical expertise, account support, client relationship development, and value communication. The RA helps translate EPRI’s research capabilities into relevant solutions for assigned clients and supports growth, adoption, and impact across the regional portfolio.
The RA reports to the Regional Manager and works in close coordination with the Regional Manager, Senior Regional Manager, sector teams, and technical staff. The role is anchored in EPRI International's M&TS pillars: Grow, Elevate, and Leverage (GEL), which guide how the RA supports disciplined growth, strengthens member confidence, and connects EPRI with the regional ecosystem.
The RA may stand in for the Regional Manager when required and is expected to build strong relationships with client end users, technical staff, and appropriate decision-makers.
Key ResponsibilitiesGROW – Drive Sustained, Targeted Funding GrowthThe RA supports targeted revenue growth by helping identify client needs, position EPRI capabilities, and coordinate account execution in assigned clients, countries, or sectors.
Client and opportunity support:
- Support the Regional Manager in developing and executing client, country, and regional strategic plans.
- Establish strong relationships at appropriate decision-making and technical levels within assigned accounts.
- Make general and sector-specific presentations to broaden client engagement and identify opportunities for growth.
- Proactively identify existing EPRI products, solutions, and research outputs that can meet or exceed client needs.
Sales process and internal coordination:
- Support the sales process from client needs assessment through close, coordinating internal cross-functional support as needed.
- Capture client, market, and product feedback to inform account strategy and support future EPRI product development.
- Maintain awareness of local political, market, and industry drivers relevant to assigned country or regional priorities.
Technical portfolio support:
- Maintain strong general knowledge of EPRI capabilities and in-depth understanding of relevant sector R&D portfolios.
- Represent technical products to clients in coordination with EPRI technical staff and sector teams.
- Support prioritization of opportunities based on client value, technical fit, and regional strategy.
The RA helps build confidence and trust by supporting research adoption, value capture, and clear communication of EPRI’s technical and practical impact.
Value communication and adoption:
- Proactively capture and communicate value, impacts, and benefits for assigned clients on a regular basis throughout the year.
- Identify, develop, and cultivate relationships with client end users to facilitate effective technology transfer.
- Support implementation and application of relevant EPRI results within client organizations.
- Actively promote broad acceptance of EPRI tools, methods, and research outputs across the client organization.
Client insight and relevance:
- Understand client strategic issues, business objectives, unique needs, and decision-making processes.
- Communicate client needs and feedback internally so EPRI research, tools, and engagement approaches remain relevant and usable locally.
- Support members as active participants in the R&D process by connecting them to relevant programs, technical experts, and collaboration opportunities.
Representation and presentations:
- Deliver general and sector-specific presentations that clearly explain EPRI capabilities, research outputs, and practical benefits.
- Represent EPRI professionally in client meetings and external forums appropriate to the role and regional strategy.
The RA supports ecosystem engagement by developing local networks, surfacing regional intelligence, and helping extend EPRI’s reach through relevant relationships and technical connections.
Network development and ecosystem awareness:
- Develop industry contacts and networks that help promote EPRI R&D acceptance and support growth in the assigned country or region.
- Identify relevant ecosystem participants, including utilities, regulators, industry associations, laboratories, universities, technology providers, and specialist partners.
- Share insight on local political drivers, industry issues, and market developments that may affect member priorities or EPRI engagement.
Regional collaboration and delivery support:
- Help connect assigned clients with relevant EPRI technical resources, international experience, and cross-regional examples.
- Support the Regional Manager in coordinating external engagement pathways and internal follow-up actions.
- Stand in for the Regional Manager when required and maintain continuity of account relationships and regional execution.
Ethics and compliance:
- Act as an ambassador for EPRI regarding the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and support compliant, transparent engagement with external stakeholders.
- Minimum 5 years of experience selling, supporting, or managing complex technical solutions in the electric utility, energy, or similar industry.
- Bachelor’s degree required in a technical discipline; engineering degree preferred; advanced degree desirable.
- Solid understanding of account management and sales practices, with ability to support the sales process from needs assessment to close.
- Ability to engage effectively with individuals at relevant levels within client organizations, including technical end users and decision-makers.
- Broad understanding of the energy industry, with specific expertise in assigned sector or relevant technical area.
- Ability to work toward common goals in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Effective presentation development and delivery skills.
- Ability to translate technical research into practical messages for client audiences.
- Strong client relationship and account-support skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
- Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite; effective use of LLM systems desirable.
- Collaborative working style and ability to coordinate across regional, sector, and technical teams.
EPRI is committed to complying with the regulatory framework governing export control, consisting of international treaties, U.S. laws, regulations and trade sanctions, and where applicable, foreign laws governing export control. These include the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Part 810 nuclear export regulations, and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
