Position Summary

The Parts Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Parts Department, ensuring customer satisfaction and exceptional customer service to internal and external customers while supporting the organization’s strategic goals.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Builds and maintains strong professional relationships to support business growth, customer retention, and new business development
  • Ensures effective collaboration within internal teams, including but not limited to the rental, yard, sales, and service departments, to ensure customer needs are being met
  • Positively contributes to a team-oriented culture by providing support, development, coaching, and performance management as needed, and ensuring accountability across departments
  • Oversees the Parts Department staff and daily operations, including but not limited to training, developing, staffing, and performance management, developing department procedures that improve efficiency and accuracy, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards, monitoring department performance, managing departmental budget, expenses, and inventory investments,
  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory levels through forecasting, cycle counts, and annual physical inventories, including but not limited to ordering supplies, monitoring usage, establishing appropriate stock levels, reviewing pricing and profitability, and ensuring proper storage, organization, and security of inventory.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure quality products and timely deliveries, source parts from approved vendors while negotiating favorable pricing and delivery schedules, and resolve vendor discrepancies related to pricing, shipments, shortages, and warranties
  • Oversee and process purchase orders and monitor outstanding orders.
  • Assist internal and external customers in identifying and ordering correct parts, provide accurate pricing, availability, and lead times, and resolve customer concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and teams to prioritize parts for repair work and in preparation for customer needs.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Parts Department maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Inventory reporting as required
  • Oversee manufacturer warranties, including but not limited to processing claims, tracking reimbursements, ensuring accurate documentation, and coordinating the return of parts as required.
  • Maintain accurate records within the company's inventory management system, including but not limited to ensuring all receiving, transfers, returns, and sales transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Utilize ERP or related software to manage inventory and provide accurate reporting.
  • Ensures the team complies with all established policies and procedures, including but not limited to policies in and outside of the Employee Handbook
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Excellent knowledge of inventory and consumer strategies in the construction industry
  • Proficient in customer service skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Proficient in problem-solving, analytical, negotiating, and project management skills
  • Proficient ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team
  • Proficient computer skills and use of Microsoft and Google systems; inventory management software and systems; and ability to learn and support new systems
  • Proficient ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in communication, organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
  • Proficient attention to detail and ability to maintain precise standards
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field preferred; or equivalent experience

Experience

5+ years of experience in an equivalent role in the construction or related industry, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver's license, related insurance, and acceptable driving record
  • Must pass a background investigation and pre-employment screen
