Job Description

As a Sr. Data & Reporting Analyst, your primary focus will be on transforming complex data into actionable business insights through advanced reporting, analytics, and visualization solutions. Partners with business stakeholders to gather requirements, develop and maintain dashboards and reports, ensure data accuracy and integrity, and support strategic decision-making. This role utilizes tools such as Power BI, SQL, and data modeling techniques to identify trends, measure performance, and deliver meaningful analytics that drive operational efficiency and business growth. Serves as a subject matter expert in reporting processes and provides guidance on best practices for data analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex reporting solutions using T-SQL, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Report Builder, and Power BI.
  • Write, optimize, and troubleshoot T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and scripts to support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives.
  • Develop and support SSIS packages for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes across multiple business systems.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into scalable technical reporting solutions.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance operational, financial, and executive dashboards utilizing Power BI, SSRS, and SQL-based reporting tools.
  • Analyze and validate data from multiple sources to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting platforms.
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve complex data, reporting, and system issues through technical investigation and data validation.
  • Support enterprise data warehouse and data integration initiatives by working closely with Data Engineers and Database Administrators.
  • Create and maintain data models, report datasets, database objects, and semantic layers to support self-service reporting capabilities.
  • Monitor and optimize report performance, query execution, and database efficiency to improve scalability and end-user experience.
  • Support testing, deployment, validation, and change management activities across reporting environments.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for reporting automation, standardization, and process improvement.
  • Present KPIs, trends, insights, and recommendations to business and leadership stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and reporting standards.
  • Design and implement monitoring, alerting, and health-check processes to proactively identify data quality, reporting, and system performance issues.
  • Establish and monitor operational metrics, reporting SLAs, and service health indicators.
  • Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, leadership, and external clients to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Drive KPI standardization, reporting governance, visualization best practices, and enterprise reporting frameworks.
  • Communicate reporting releases, enhancements, bug fixes, and data definition changes while facilitating stakeholder feedback and prioritizing improvements.

Skills & Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or comparable work experience
  • 5+ year's experience in a software engineering, development operations engineering, database administration, or product development role. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, including T-SQL development and performance tuning.
  • Experience developing reports with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Report Builder.
  • Experience designing and supporting SSIS ETL packages and data integration processes.
  • Strong experience with Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and dashboard development.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and star schema design.
  • Experience working with Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, or cloud-based data platforms is preferred.
  • Familiarity with source control, release management, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and master data management principles.
