Job Overview

The Grant Writer III, Foundation & Corporate Relations, serves as the central coordinator and lead writer for the Foundations & Corporate Relations grant development process, ensuring the efficient management of grant workflows, timelines, and proposal submissions. This position is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the operational capacity of the Foundation & Corporate Relations grants team, including the Foundation Grants Writer II, Foundation & Corporate Relations staff, Public Grants staff, and external consultants. Working across departments, the Grant Writer III coordinates and manages the full proposal development lifecycle, including establishing submission timelines, facilitating collaboration among internal and external partners, gathering programmatic and financial information, and ensuring the timely completion of all proposal components. This role serves as the primary point of contact for grant-writing activities, connecting development staff, program leaders, finance personnel, and subject matter experts to ensure proposals accurately reflect organizational priorities, outcomes, and funding needs. In addition to overseeing the proposal process, the Grant Writer III is responsible for drafting, editing, and submitting high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, concept papers, and other funding-related materials. This position conducts prospect research to identify and evaluate foundation and corporate funding opportunities, proactively recommends opportunities for leadership consideration, and develops strategic concept papers that highlight innovative practices and initiatives that advance and expand AltaMed’s programs and operations while supporting fundraising goals.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s degree in English, Public Health, Communications, or related field required.

  • Minimum 7 years of grant writing and/or professional writing experience with demonstrated success, preferably in proposal writing for healthcare or the nonprofit field required.

Compensation

$87,461.21 - $109,326.52 annually

The range is subject to change.
