About the Position
We are seeking a Communications & Marketing Manager to help develop, maintain and implement a comprehensive and cohesive marketing and member engagement plan for NCLM member services, general communications, education and training, event marketing, and other program areas as needed. This new supervisory position would work closely with the Director of Strategic Communications & Member Engagement and supervise the communications team.
The Communications & Marketing Manager will coordinate with each NCLM division to ensure consistent and coordinated member outreach. For example, during a communications campaign, this position would work with subject matter experts across the League and colleagues within the SCME team to develop and maintain consistent messages, create appropriate materials, establish campaign goals and timelines, work with any outside consultants as needed, and measure campaign success.
The Communications & Marketing Manager would also work closely with the Learning and Development team to develop an educational marketing plan that directly benefits members and increases participation in the Advancing Municipal Leaders education program. Likewise, the position would work with Event Planning staff to determine marketing strategies for CityVision annual conference and other events hosted by NCLM.
The Communications & Marketing Manager would work internally with other team members to ensure general NCLM marketing materials are up-to-date (i.e. website, collaterals, social media, etc.). S/he would provide day-to-day supervision to the communications team.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate would have communications and marketing experience, project management experience, experience in education/program development, event marketing, and s/he would have excellent interpersonal communication skills. An understanding of municipal government and/or the NCLM is a plus.
This experience is typically gained through a bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism or similar fields of study and 10-plus years of experience. Supervisory experience preferred but not required.

Salary & Benefits.
A hybrid work arrangement is available that allows for two in-office and three work-from-home days each week.
