Lone Mountain Ranch

Located in Big Sky, Montana, Lone Mountain Ranch is a historic guest ranch situated on 148 acres in the heart of the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem. The Retail Associate is often the guest's connection to the people, products, and experiences that make Lone Mountain Ranch unique. Whether helping someone find the perfect keepsake, sharing recommendations for their stay, or creating a welcoming shopping experience, you'll help guests take a piece of the Ranch home while making every interaction feel personal and memorable

About the Role

The Retail Associate at Lone Mountain Ranch helps create a welcoming and memorable guest experience within the Ranch retail spaces and Outpost. This position combines hospitality, guest engagement, merchandising, and day-to-day retail operations while serving as a knowledgeable resource for guests visiting the Ranch.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with people, has an eye for presentation and organization, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Retail Associates work closely with the Retail team and other guest-facing departments to ensure guests feel welcomed, informed, and well cared for throughout their experience.

What You'll Do
  • Welcome guests into the retail space with warmth, professionalism, and hospitality
  • Assist guests with product selections, local recommendations, and information about Ranch activities and events
  • Operate the POS system and process guest transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing retail displays and merchandise areas
  • Restock merchandise and assist with inventory organization and monthly inventory counts
  • Share knowledge about featured products, local artisans, and Ranch offerings with guests
  • Assist with guest check-ins for Ranch experiences and special events as needed
  • Support overall Outpost operations and assist other departments when needed
  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude while contributing to a welcoming guest environment

  • Previous customer service, retail, or hospitality experience preferred
  • Friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor with strong communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy environment
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining visually appealing retail spaces
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Adaptable, proactive, and willing to assist with a variety of operational needs
  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic computer skills preferred
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift merchandise or supplies as needed
  • Passion for hospitality, retail, and creating memorable guest experiences
