About This Position

“Be the voice, the guide, and the lived experience that changes a young person’s path.”

You get to work in a dynamic, community-based environment where no two days look the same. This role blends outreach, mentorship, and real impact—it’s meaningful, hands-on work that meets youth where they are.

Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc. (CPLC) is a non-profit organization and one of the largest Hispanic Community Development Corporations in the United States. Founded in 1967, CPLC is committed to empowering individuals through health & human services, housing, education, and economic development

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS ROLE?

You will use your lived experience to support and empower youth on their journey toward healing, growth, and self-advocacy. As a Youth Peer Support Specialist, you will work directly with youth and young adults—both individually and in group settings—to promote positive physical, emotional, and social well-being.

You will deliver curriculum-based education focused on prevention, recovery, and life skills such as communication, stress management, and self-esteem. Through outreach and community engagement, you will play a key role in preventing youth opioid use and encouraging positive decision-making.

WHO YOU ARE?

You are someone who leads with empathy, authenticity, and resilience. You understand the challenges youth face because you’ve lived through similar experiences—and you’re ready to use that insight to inspire change.

You’re comfortable working in both structured and flexible environments, whether facilitating a group session, engaging in community outreach, or supporting a youth in crisis. You are a strong communicator, highly organized, and passionate about helping others grow.

You believe in meeting people where they are, honoring their experiences, and guiding them toward their full potential.
