Controller at Pacifica Hospital of the Valley – Sun Valley, California

As part of the organization's leadership team, the CONTROLLER is responsible for the accounting practices and maintenance of fiscal/accounting records and reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Establishes policies, procedures and programs to ensure effective accounting systems
• Monitors preparation of statistical reports and financial statements
• Coordination of external financial and regulatory audits
• Collaborates with other members of management on financial and budgetary matters
• Assist with the implementation of internal controls
• Oversee and monitor federal, state and local compliance

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Five (5) years as a Controller or equivalent, ready for advancement
• CPA License or licensing in-process preferred
• Solid understand GAAP
• Health care industry experience
• Medium to advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel
• Meditech system experience preferred
• Comfortable meeting deadlines
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and motivate staff to achieve desired end results.
