Summary

Under the direction of the Patient Access Manager/Supervisor/Lead, functions as a Patient Access Services Representative in processing registrations for inpatients, outpatients, and emergency room patients. Conducts professional patient interviews obtaining demographic, financial and biographical information. Processes registrations in an efficient, accurate and timely manner. Is responsible for the delivery of quality performance and service excellence; and adheres to the PH Standards of Behavior.

Education

Must be a high school graduate or equivalent with GED. Medical Terminology preferred.

Experience

Prefer two years of clerical experience, including proficiency of Microsoft Windows. Requires a minimum of two years customer service.

Other Qualifications

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must attend the required Patient Access Services training class; and must pass test upon completion with a score of 90% or better. If the applicant scored between 80%-89% on the test, they will be able to retake the test once more. Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of general computer skills and applications. Demonstrate ability to multi-task and work independently using critical thinking skills.
