Test in Fox Point, Wisconsin at Fox Point, Village of (WI)

General Schedule: 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday with overtime as required

Pay Range: $23.00 to $28.00 hourly (Depending on Qualifications and Experience)

Position Purpose: To perform normal duties assigned to Laborers in Public Works and the Water Utility under the direct supervision of the Public Works Superintendent and Foreman or their appointee.

• Laborer I duties include street maintenance, snow removal, tree maintenance (including pruning and removal), grass mowing and other landscape tasks, and collection of rubbish, recycling, yard waste and leaves.
• Other Public Works Infrastructure maintenance and repair assistance asassigned, including but not limited to, culvert replacement, watermain repairs, sanitary sewer maintenance, and sign maintenance.
• Respond to Public Works related emergencies as needed such as storm-related damage, flooding, snow and ice events, wind damage and any other type of disaster that could affect the village and/or village residents and would require labor in order to clean-up or protect people and property within the village.
• Must be on call 13 weeks per year and respond to related Village, Public Works and/or Water Utility emergencies accordingly.
• Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge and Licenses

• A Class “B” CDL with Air Brakes or attained within 6-months of employment.
• Has or willing and able to gain working knowledge and safe operation of large equipment such as wheel loaders, skid steer loaders, brush chippers, dump trucks, and on and off-road equipment of all types isdesirable.
• Had or willing and able to gain working knowledge and safe operation of various tools and equipment.
• General knowledge of safety programs and procedures.

• Wears appropriate/required Personal Protective Equipment while preforming duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications:
A valid State of Wisconsin driver license is required with a good driving record at the time of hire and throughout employment in this position. Have a Class “B” CDL with air brakes or ability to attain within 6 months of employment. Ability to satisfactorily pass a background check at the discretion of the Chief of Police, Wisconsin DOT physical, drug screen and preplacement functional test (PPFT). This position requires a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, push and pull objects weighing 75 pounds or more and work in closed spaces. The employee is routinely required to operate equipment, and may occasionally be required to repetitively lift and carry objects weighing 50 pounds.
The employee is routinely exposed to dust, noise, vibrations, other environments and environmental conditions typically encountered in a construction and public works setting and may also be exposed to potentially hazardous materials.
