Altoona Smiles is looking to add to our front desk team! We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and patient-centered Dental Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate blends strong financial and billing expertise with five-star communication and customer care.

Job Description:

Maintain accurate patient accounts by verifying balances, credits, and adjustments daily as per our DOS daily reporting. Coordinate with the DOS team to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure account accuracy.

Navigate insurance follow-up this includes coordination of benefits and notifying insurance of overpayments and requesting recoupment.

Process patient statements and execute refunds consistently to ensure timely revenue collection.

Manage patient communication regarding financial inquiries, providing clarity for patients and our team when needed.

Review monthly reports, including collections accounts, patients credits and patient overdue balances.

End-of-Day Financial Reconciliation: Balance daily payments posted in Eaglesoft against collected amounts and prepare cash/check deposits for bank drop-off according to office procedures.

Patient Check out: Perform weekly and monthly data cleanup, including Eaglesoft photo recycling, PBN task management (inactivating long-term hygiene patients, reviewing patients without upcoming appointments), and check incoming & outgoing mail scanning necessary documents into DOS file.

5 Star Phones: Maintain 5-star phone certification by completing required modules, engaging in regular role-play sessions with the Team Lead, and incorporating feedback from certification calls.

Active Patient Communication: Manage incoming and outgoing calls, emails and texts. Including scheduling, checking voicemails, answering financial questions, and handling rescheduling/cancellations.
